Ezekiel 13:1-7 Imagination is great if used in a good way. Imagination used toward “self gratification” is wrong. Why? Because everyone is bent on evil. We were born in sin. I have observed people in the church that follow their own imaginations and called it spirituality. How do I know this? Because of the fruit. I believe in visions and dreams from God. But I sense a lot of the so called visions and dreams do not come from God. If the fruit is fruity then it’s probally not from God. Judgment is against false teachers that follow their own imagination. I rarely say I have received anything from the Lord. (It brings fear to me because of these verses.) I’ve heard singers say that “The song was from the Lord”. Excuse me if I’m blunt here but there are times I sure hope God doesn’t sing like that. We’re representatives of God and if he speaks or sings it would be millions times better than the greatest person of God.

Let’s see, Derek says “sex before marriage” I don’t know about that, lol…well, maybe it would be good..you could talk about how teen pregnancy and STD’s wouldn’t be such a problem in our society, etc..
Let’s see if I could come up with an idea….hmmm…what are problems that Yankton is facing today? Maybe discuss some of those problems and focus on Christ being the solution? If I think of anything else I will let ya know! What a great opportunity that is! I pray that God will use you and that they will be His words and not your own! God bless!
Hey, your xanga sucks!
Hey there,
Yes imagination can be dangerous so true… but using our imaginations can also be really good. Because God showed Abraham the stars, a visual picture to get him to imagine how big his line of descendents would be. We too can spend time imagining things – imagining being thinner, more beautiful, more healthier, more properous, more loving… spend time thinking about what we want to be. There is power in our imagination.
People should be careful when they say something is from the Lord. Part of it is learning to hear his voice. I think the Holy Spirit definitely does inspire music and songs. The Holy Spirit does inspire me to write and sing praises to God. It doesn’t mean God wrote the song, but that God gave you the creativity and sometimes gives you a define tune to sing the songs too…
God has spoken to me through other people, we know its him speaking if it matches up with scripture obviously…
