  • Would-be groom jailed for swallowing ring.  In Britian -What do you think the details were?

Word of the Day: Abject – It’s an adjective for: of the worst or lowest kind, despicable

What do you find abject?  What do you think God finds abject?

Greek Word: eucharisteo - An outpouring of wonderful feelings that freely flow from the heart in response to someone.

In your life who is the person that matches that description?

Insight into me:  I have a flexible schedule.  I set my own hours.  I prefer early mornings.  Here in Yankton the traffic lights blink all night long and change to regular at 6:00 am.  Every morning it’s a game to me to get through all the traffic lights before they go regular.  I do it most of the time.    What’s an insight into your personality?

Many parents doubt their discipline  -published in the January issue of the journal Clinical Pediatrics
     — About a third of parents believe that their methods of disciplining their children are not all that effective.  (Many used the same methods from their own parents.)
How do you feel about your parenting methods?  What works? What doesn’t?

  • I don’t think it would fill up

  • Yeah I love that saying! You have a wonderful day today…and I will be back after school!

  • i abject child abusers.

  • Smelly whatever it is??? I am confused – so that’s not new!

  • just passin by and wanan say Hi:)

  • It wouldn’t fill up, just erode faster and get deeper.

  • Dear Trivial Master,

Is that assuming the water has no exit? I assumed it would. And with the massive amount of water being introduced in one point, erosion is sure to accelerate.

Hey, why do you hide our profile pics? I’m kinda proud of mine.

  • Yu have awesome Day hun and hope we can chat soon

  • Hi Randy,

Good thing the fellow didn’t choke!!  I work nights so my posts are usually done as I get hoe and prior to sleep…I read comments and respond in the AM….Hope you are having a good day in the refuge of the Father!!  Thanks for your comments….Be Blessed….Mike

  • Through the Grand Canyon flows the major Colorado River, which in turn has no less than twelve tributaries, increasing it’s flow.  Could the Niagra River (Falls) surge into the Grand Canyon, it would be business as usual.  All rivers wax and wane their depth and width, according to rain, melting ice etc., but never fill up.  That’s because all rivers flow into oceans.  So, it would take a “second” flood to fill the mighty Grand Canyon up.

If I had the where-with-all to accomplish it, I would eliminate abject poverty…of not only the physical being but the poverty of each eternal soul.  Those are deep and scarring wounds.  “Abject” means low in spirit or hope and God is NEVER  at that point.  However, He does “hate” the sin….but not the sinner.

Eucharisteo is the leap of  faith we have in our relationship with Jesus….He is the Holy Eucharist…the most Blessed and Holy of Holies.  You can’t get better than that!!!

Character insight:  I am usually a very even tempered person who can get deeply passionate about what I believe.  I am a Constitutionalist, not a Republican or Democrate.  I abhor what our country’s law makers have procured in convoluting the Precepts upon which this country was founded….which is Common Sense (by Thomas Paine) who based his little book on what GOD expects of his human creation, not to mention what we SHOULD expect from ourselves….IF  we truly love GOD.   COULD, SHOULD and IF we made that application in our lives….plenitude would abound!!!

  • hello, hope that you are having a good day

  • RYC: You misunderstand. I don’t mean your profile pic (I like the puppets). I mean the profile pics of those who comment which usually appears at the side of a comment. Where are those profile pics?

  • RYC: Xanga is sllllllllllllooow today!

  • Abject – What I abject is anything that hurts people – drugs specifically.  I think it’s the same answer with God.

  • Hi Randy,

Thanks for subscribing…I have done the same with your site….it’s good to meet another brother in Christ.  I will rest up when I can!!

Have a great day in Him,

    Mike

  • I think God finds CRAZY, INSANE people, still on parole from prison, that like to shoot to kill people abject!!!!!

Okay, I might have lashed out with that, but you would understand if you read my new blog.

  • And with parenting….I can keep my older two girls disciplined pretty well. They mind, but Melanie(2) just simply tells me no and that’s the way it is. It’s funny though, I have to tattel tail on her to Jarrod, b/c when he says it…Mel says “Okay Daddy.” Kids diffidently respond better to the daddy’s better b/c of their deep voice. With mamas it’s like, “What are you gonna do about it?”

  • It isn’t my church that has Missions Emphasis Week, it is my school.  :)   We have missionaries come from all different kinds of organizations and sort of promote and encourage students to be/get involved in Missions. :)   Its a lot of fun!

  • thought i would say hi i am a stay at home mom and have 2 boys 6 and 3 the three yr old is very whinny and i cant break him and i will agree with lacey about listening to the father because they do much better with him. It doesnt matter how much i discipline him. nothing seems to work for my 3 year old but i still love him.

me and my huband watch 24 and that was funny

  • i also come to xanga to give me something to do becasue we just moved and dont know many people around. and to see what others have to say and to stay connect to my friends and give me adult conversation when all day i am around little kids till my hubby comes home

    God Bless Erika

  • hello  it was good chating with you yesterday, hope that you are having a great day

  • eucharisteo~An outpouring of wonderful feelings that freely flow from the heart in response to someone.
I remember watching my daughter and her beloved Justin when they first realized they were in love…euchariesteo would be a perfect word to discribe that emotion…
but alas, they were too young…and so they have parted.

Truely that word can only be used in reponse to Jesus Christ..true, everlasting Love

  • I feel children should be disiplined… never abused.

I think we (Al_son & I) did a good job with my 3 boys (all in their 20′s now). They are wonderful young men.

  • Sorry I haven’t stopped by in awhile! Just wanted to say ‘hi’! =)

OMGoodnes…So many questions…I’m just gonna pick one for now.

    Parenting methods.

I actually like our parenting methods. Not saying I don’t lose my temper every once in awhile, but hubby and I are very consistant, firm but fair. Our children are aware of the rules and we let them know what the consequences are if they choose to break them. They are aware that they are the ones that make the choices, and if they don’t want to get in trouble, they need to make the right ones. What is most important is that my hubby and I stand as one in the decision making and don’t undermine eachother when it comes to things. If it’s ‘no’ then it’s ‘no’ to both of us and same with ‘yes’. I think it’s one of the most important things when children see their parents as one unit, not two divided individuals.

I grew up in a very hard environment with very little parental guidance. It was not a happy time for me, so I have tried to provide my children with the kind of home I always wanted growing up…Stable and loving. We are their parents before anything and they know they can’t get away with anything they want, but they also know our love is unconditional no matter what choices they make – Good or bad – Just like the love we have from our Heavenly Father.

We may not be perfect, but I think we are doing the best we can. =)

  • Ok I will look at it. My day at school was ok…been tired mostly. I had 2 tests + a bible verse quiz. So how was your day?

  • What an inspiration you are! Wow! Good for you…Glad you told me some of them were adopted because I was going to say, you look amazing for having a 20 something year old kid! =)

You are doing a wonderful thing…My hubby’s cousins are foster parents and they have been so blessed by it.

I would love to adopt one day…Hubby and I have even thrown the idea around a few times. It’s intimidating at the same time…Your truly need to have the heart – Especially when they do come from abusive homes.

God bless you and your family!

    Big hugs!

  • I’m trying to think what point the guy was trying to make by swallowing the ring.  It doesn’t do the body any good, that’s for sure!

  • thanks

  • have a good night

  • I only found out one of them….I don’t know if I’m going or not…But I do get to get my lip pierced!!!! YAY ME!!1

  • We are called to be stewards in our parenting. Pray hard for your children and their salvation. That is the best parenting advice I can give

  • :( I came by this a.m. but my comment is not here… I must have goofed up somehow… anyhow,I was going to say I think God probably finds our inability to love our neighbor pretty abject…

  • Awesome! Eh…I think I aced my Math test and I failed my History test! I got a 100% on my Bible verse though! haha I’m glad you had a good day/night! haha Talk to you tomorrow!

  • Yeah I think I do….And I am very excited. I’ve had it done before actually, 4 times but now I’m getting it done professionally…. so yeah…

  • Yup! I am in a Christian University. LeTourneau University and I love it! I like missions emphasis too, my major is Christian Ministry (in case I hadn’t told you) and I am on my school’s mission committee. Right now we are planning missions trips for Spring Break. This week its just promoting missions here at school. Its been busy – but I love it! It is great that your pastor is in Africa. :)

  • WOW – you sure ask a lot of questions – LOL!

ABJECT : murder of innocent lives and rape………….

PARENTING : Of course my parenting leaves a lot to be desired, but I am learning from my mistakes and do the best I can, and I think that’s all ANYONE can do!

Have a super day – and monkey???? YUCK!

  • Hey, I came by to skim your post!

Actually I read it all. There is so much that God find despicable…and we should find the same things despicable…unfortunately we don’t. I have a number of people in my life who love me and they remind me of that beautiful Greek word….the hubby would be one. Are you studying Greek?

My kids are all grown up and on their own and doing very well. They turned out good inspite of having me for a mom. The reason they turned out so well is the Lord. He did most of the work and they are all trying to follow Him. They are better Christians and better people than I am.

Hey, I hope you have a great Thursday!

  • hi, i’m doing okay. common cold, work, ministry, family reunion …. tooo much …. I realize i could not keep up with xanga any more …

  • jailed form swolling a ring??

tahts a wierd thing to be jailed for!!! WHY?

that is thestrangest thing i have ever heard.. and why was the ring in his mouth anyway…
