We watched the movie: Bridge to Terabithia last night. It was really good. It’s about 2 middle schoolers using their imagination to get through life’s problems.
Question: When you were young what imaginary world did you enter?
When I was young I use to love to dream I was flying through space on a space craft. Actually the moon is 250,000 miles from the earth. 10x’s the distance around the earth.

A world where I felt loved and safe…..
(I came from a broken home)…..
There aren’t very many pit stops either.
I would enter a peaceful world where everyone got along ok…
I was in the land of castles, searching out secret passageways
i used to dream of places with unicorns and fairies
mine was a world of books
I would escape into reading
which I passed on to my children
I escaped into a old abandoned house where a friendly ghost lived and became my buddy.
Books took me away, taught me, rounded my intelligence out and kept me very safe. Yeah! It was books.
I lived for the woods, alone with my Red Ryder….. whacking cowboys
I was a privileged child, well-off, but I was an abused child, beaten. So I borrowed, bought and stole books, eight or more a week and lived in my head and on the exposed roots of a giant pine tree within shouting distance of my home. Now I have a bookshop so I suppose it was all good training!
