I was listening to the news last night. They had a report on it about how long people stay in traffic in order to get to work. I’m curious: How long does it take you to get to work?
15 to 20 minutes. I don’t have to get on any interstates, thankfully.
It varies because I work in different customers’ homes (self-employed carpet cleaner.) YESTERDAY: an hour and ten minutes. TODAY: ten minutes.
Half an hour to 40 minutes.
I live north of a very busy mall area. During Christmas and some Saturdays it can double the amount of time it takes me to get to work. Usually it takes about 10 min but I always try to allow for accidents and other kinds of traffic delays.
Most of the time I am go the opposite direction of the traffic.
About 32 minutes. Give or take.
I go to work at Noon and it takes me about an hour and 5 minutes….If I worked 8-4 or 9-5 it would take about 1 3/4 hours.
It is all about timing.
You guys sure have a distant to go each day. I’m blessed it usually takes me under 5 minutes.
Yes it is a long time….we live pretty far….the traffic moves well at mid day.
Blessings to you Randy…..Mike
RYC: Thank you and may the Lord bless you and give you great joy in the journey ahead!
i saw that article. i’m trying my hardest to rely on public transportation than drive to work!
ahhh ….about 12 miles each way….not bad!!! Of course the time depends on the traffic and the number of wrecks along the way!
I like to get there as quickly as I can. The faster I’m there the less stress from the road, and then I can concentrate on the task at hand.
tired and retired
in malaysia, getting to work in Kuala Lumpur will most probably takes about 1 hour to get to a 15 miles distance. to go back home in kuala lumpur, it can last to two hours or more….damn tired here…but when i came down to perth,it’s so peaceful here.good for retirement
My husband use to drive 80 miles round trip every day – so 2 hours a day on the road. He did that for many years. Now he is semi-retired – works 30 hours a week – gets full benefits – and he only drives 4 miles round trip a day. When he leaves work at 2PM – I can expect him home by 2:15. It’s soooooooooo much better. ~Carolyn
40 Minutes when traffic is good. I work in a different city.
Currently about 12 minutes each way, roughly a 7 mile jaunt. 4 traffic lights between me and home, which are generally all red going home and all green going to work. Go figure!
Next week, my drive is 8 miles, and will cover the same amount of time as it is mostly state highway that we’ll cover. Once construction is finished, I imagine that drive will shorten a couple of minutes. Course, that all depends on traffic. The nice thing, my wife and I will be going together to and from work together, much like a 2 for 1 deal. So our household will be spending half the time commuting as we did before!
10 minutes to get to work. I am glad it isn’t long, because I dislike driving.
For me it takes 45 mins and the actual distance is just less than 10 mins! But I enjoy staying in traffic!
No traffic: 35 minutes Traffic/weather: 55-90 minutes. Average: 40 minutes The good news is that I have lots of time to listen to my favorite music, and on those mornings where the weather is great, I can cruise with the windows open and enjoy the wonderful smells of God’s creation!
