  • Motivation

I’m having trouble motivating myself today.  Life has been a roller coaster the past few months and I’m on the bottom loop trying to muster enough strength to climb the next loop while feeling loopy.

How do you motivate yourself when motivation isn’t there?

  • pray, refocus and stay on track- one track.

  • just take a break and think tomorrow will be better. or someone keep pushing me on then i try again.

  • When you find out, please let me know.

  • Prayer, my kids, good friends help me too.

  • I’m sure the path I would take is different than yours… but with he same result.

I would find a nice freeflowing stream, (preferably in the woods), burn a mixture of sage, sweetgrass and cedar, say some prayers and meditate on the greatness of my Creator and then listen to what was heard.  Water can cleanse us both without and within as we allow God to touch us… such is baptism with water…

  • I’d have to disagree with TommyCrowwithWhiteFeathers.  I respectfully don’t believe all roads lead the same way.

  • Don’t put your eyes on EVERYTHING that has to be done – take baby steps and tackle one thing at a time – sit a spell – git up and tackle another one – albeit large or small.  It’s like one potato – two potato – three potato – FOUR! Remember that game?  “Let Him have all your worries and cares for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”  I Peter 5:7 TLB

  • i can certainly relate to the rollercoaster.

  • My zip i dee do da is a  little zapped today too.

  • Motivation….
I try to think of people that are dependent on me….

  • I just begrudgingly start doing what I HAVE to do and eventually end up feeling better about it.  This of course doesn’t work.  As I sit here typing this I am supposed to be doing laundry.

  • Hi, Hope you are doing great!

I usually close my eyes and tell to God that this problem is not mine and now it is Yours, You have to take care of it! And many times it happened that all these problems were solved beautifully. I always say to myself, whatever happen, happens for the best, I need not worry about anything, God is always with me! :)

    Keep smiling……..

  • Sometimes I put it off, but generally I just remind myself that if I don’t get what needs done, done, then it will pile into the next day, and so on, and so forth.  I’d rather get it done now then wish I’d have done it yesterday.

  • when i get unmotivated like that.. i depend even MORE on God…  and try to rest in His strength.. sometimes that can be easier said than done though.  although…i have discovered that if i start praising God even if i dont really feel like it at the time, He does “show-up” and provide the motivation i need!

  • Don’t ask me why but I knew this story was for you the second I spotted it :

  • I PRAY and Pray and pray… Seriously Pray…
Somewhere in the Bible…. it says of when you are afflicted, let him pray.

Praise and worship is good too. I had been going through something for about 13 1/2 years. I thought that it would never end. It’s still there but the stink of what it is has lesson. The rollercoaster is leveling out.

May you keep the faith and keep pressing into what’s ahead for you. Something good will come out of what you have been going through. Believe that everything is going to be all right. Peace Be With You. Try to put your focus on Jesus and others not what you are going through.

I hope that I encourage you in some way.

    Blessings,

  • How do you motivate yourself when motivation isn’t there?

I find something to do that I really wanted to do but had been putting off because I’d been doing all the stuff I was suppose to do. Anything, as long as it’s productive and entertaining will do. As far as praying goes (as some have suggested), we should be doing that all the time anyway. Make your life a prayer. Make the Lord happy.

  • I ask myself how important is it anyway?

  • I’ll read a motivational book or listen to someone speak (such as Joel Osteen)

  • sometimes i just have to make myself do things i don’t want to do. sometimes i go to my documents folder on my computer and start reading some of my writings because there are some things God has given me that i completely forgot about, but might be appropriate for that time. when i am in the wake of a storm, i have to tell myself, this too shall pass. God is able to put stability back where we feel all is unstable. and God is able when we feel we are unable. His ways are higher and his ways are perfect.

  • RYC: That’s not to say that I don’t procrastinate every now and then!  I do, but I always gear to have the said task done when it needs doing.  Not last minute, but not right out of the gate either!

  • Ask for suggestions on how to solve the problem and choose the best from this list which is very good. Maybe I’ll borrow a few too for the future.
