  • Iraqi Family

I had an interesting day yesterday.  I took the Iraqi family to the Social Security office so they could apply for SSN numbers.  I listened to Mayasa’s stories of life in Iraq, leaving and arriving here in America.  She told me that her family nearly didn’t get out of Syria.  Her airline tickets were taken.   She was accused of being a spy for America.  (The airline allowed her to travel even without tickets.) The family was so grateful to be in America.  They excitedly talked about how beautiful America is and how wonderful Americans are.  I have a new appreciation for the USA.

Green.Monster.gifThe big bad xanga monster is out again eating all the comments.  I tried to comment on several of your sites but……

  • I am so excited for this family.  I wish every Democrat in the House and Senate could hear this witness.  May God use you mightily in their lives.

  • xanga has been acting weird for me too.

  • I saw that you had stopped by, but hadn’t left a comment.  We should make that picture the official xanga monster.  I love it!

  • I saw that you had stopped by, but hadn’t said anything.   I think we should make that picture the official xanga monster.   I love it!

  • Well, my comment did post.   I wonder if the message I left got through too.  Because, according to xanga, the page wasn’t available.  Which is good, because I am already married….

  • Since I can’t post on Kowpatty’s site:  I agree that Democrats need to hear this.  But, I’m happy we live in a country where we can disagree without killing each other.  I told Mayasa that people were basically the same all over the world, but that the US had a good system to deal with the “bad people” and one day Iraq would also.

  • There are definitely strange bugs running around.

Have you ever wonder about where you might be if you had not been born in America? Except for God’s grace, we could have been born in Iraqi or some other country.

  • I am so happy for this family.  I couldn’t imagine living in a contry like that.

  • I saw your last comment about Apollo 12 and said,”again” LOL   well, that reminds me when I saw a young boy at the antique mall and I said,”do you know what happened on this day? and he looked at me like why is this old lady quizing me and I said,”Dec 7th Pearl Harbor was bombed.” and he looked about 10yrs old and he got me when he said,”again?”

  • I don’t think I will ever be able to fully appreciate how lucky I am to live in such a great area in the world. It’s hard to be fully grateful when you never have to live in places of war and violence and inequality like some do.

Xanga has been eating my comments today, too. I copy and paste before I hit submit just in case.

  • 1969…I remember the men walking on the moon.

    Blessings,
    Susie

    P.S.
I was doing adding some things to my family history.
Here is a blog that I did in Feb 2007.  Thought to share.

  • I don’t think most Americans really understand how lucky we are.  Sometimes it takes an outsider to help us to see.

  • praise the  Lord. i think all your help to the iraqi family is wonderful. i hope everything progresses well for them and they soon settle in.

  • Do you think we can win another race to the moon ?
