  • Planets

I enjoyed helping my daughter with her homework assignment.  She had to find the planets in the sky.  We identified: Venus, Mars, & Saturn.  This month it will appear as if Saturn is moving backwards, if you watch it night after night.  Saturn is in the western sky at about 45 degrees.  It comes out at about 10:30 pm and stays until the morning.

I completely made it through all my xanga subscriptions.  Great accomplishments.  I really enjoyed looking at all the different Christmas decorations on the sites.  It made me think about getting in a car and looking at the decorations.  We do this every year.

Do you drive around your town looking at Christmas decorations?

No news I hope is good news.  My visa has been rejected 3 times now.  The Nigerian embassy is being very difficult on this.  It was taken in for the fourth time on Thursday and they haven't said anything.  We'll find out on Tuesday.

  • does sound like a fun assignment

  • Good morning, Star Gazers!!!

  • Sounds interesting! I've never looked up any planets in the sky.. I wouldn't know where to find them and how to recognize them either...O_o

Ryc: yeah, I hope this week will Fly by!

  • sounds cool, was hoping to see the Geminids this past Thurs / Fri, but was overcast both night, was suppose to be the best meteor shower of the year.

  • yes its a great night for me and my wife.,

  • Yes we go around looking at the lights.  We will probably get grandma to watch the twins this year again as they are too young to appreciate the lights.  Gabriel loves it though.

I can't believe they denied your visa.  I really hope it goes through this time.

  • We are lucky to see any sky around here at this time of the year.  We just pretty much see clouds and snow!

  • Oh yes, there's this one street that REALLY decorates. One house wins the prize and anytime we ever meet someone who hasn't seen it we always pile in the car and go over to that neighborhood.

    Your poor kitty! ;0)

  • I think we are the only ones who have made an attempt at Christmas lights besides the big ones they put in the city. There is probably an object lesson in that somewhere.

  • We live in a really Small town, so theres not many christmas lights really, but we did go look a couple days ago.  Theres a place my family goes occasionally, that has a 5 mile long thing of christmas lights...Id love to take the girls to it, but, husband doesnt do things like that. Im lucky to get him to go with us to a christmas dinner.

my girls LOVE the christmas lights though.

  • We are going driving around tonight!

  • Good luck with your visa.  Have a great weekend!

  • yes, we all ride around and look at the lights and once I had a video camera and taped it for my little neice and that's like 12yrs old now.lol I should look for it. Well, I don't want to scare you but didn't the U.N. building just get blown up the other day in Nigeria? I watch PBS the Lear report everynight.

  • I am a total star gazer... which is nice now that I live someplace where you can actually see the stars! I don't drive around to look at Christmas decorations, but if I see something really shiny while already out, I'll make a special turn down that street to get a better look.

  • I am nervous about your trip to Nigeria. I know how they feel about bad juju, how superstitious they are, and how dangerous it can be... I've simply asked God to protect you and your traveling companions.

We haven't made any special trips to see lights, but next weekend, I'd like to go to Natchitoches, La. It's christmas paradise there.

  • looking at Christmas decorations...
Yes, they are beautiful to see.
As for this week I have learned to be more appreciative of LIGHTS.
With the Ice Storm...The first LIGHTS that stood out in town where
    the Christmas lights.

About your visa being rejected 3 times now.
May God direct your way...His will be done.

  • I love to drive around looking at the lights, use to be more fun before all the hideous blow ups!!
    Praying for your visa.

  • RYC: Hehe... Thank you for your comment! I might make a post on how to make sushi since I'm on winter break. =D

  • Your visa was denied?  I thought "Wow, has he been doing some big time shopping or what?"  Slowly, the light came on.  Aha!!!  THAT Visa!!  Praying all goes well.

  • You haven't read even a quarter of the hell that woman has put me through. yet for some ungodly unknown reason i still remain faithfully her wretched daughter.
    Enough is enough though!

  • Have you tried Master Card yet ....?

ok, ok, I know -- Kowpatty kinda beat me to it, but what was I to do ? Come all the way hear and not leave a comment ?!

if it's to be.....    Hoping you get a final answer one way or the other soon though.

  • We do drive around to look at Christmas decorations.  I appreciate the fact that here in the OH/PA/WV area, there are many people who put up nativity scenes; they are not nearly as common in the areas where I've lived in the West.

Hope you get good news today on your visa.
