Israel
On this day sixty years ago, the British mandate over Palestine expired. As a result, Jewish authorities declared the establishment of the State of Israel. Immediately, Israel had to struggle for its very existence. Within a day, it was invaded by the surrounding armies. The hastily formed Israeli Defense Forces defended the new nation in a bloody war that lasted more than a year. Against all odds, Israel survived. To many, its very existence was a miracle. That miracle continues to this day.
I love reading books about the liberation of Israel. There are many tunnels in and around Jerusalem. It’s fascinating to see how those tunnels were used during the above time.
Breaking News — U.S. President George W. Bush arrives in Israel to mark the nation’s 60th anniversary and to push the Mideast peace process.

I believe that the existence of Israel is one of the best proofs of God’s existence and the truth of the Bible.
@waiting_for_the_final_trumpet - Your statement is so true. I thank God for Israel.

“On this day sixty years ago, the British mandate over Palestine expired.” OUR GOD REIGNS!!! Hallelujah!!
Your post today really lifted my spirits. He lives! He loves! He liberates!
I was supposed to be going to Israel this year on a missions trip, but the missionary got really sick and had to come back to the states. So, the trip got cancelled. I was really looking forward to it. Maybe one day.
Have you read the Zion Chronicles?
Israel is a young country. But the promise land is an old place
I like Bush and voted for him but going over there isn’t going to help anything. If anything it’s going to rile things up again.
Interesting that the Prez has gone to Israel. I didn’t realize that.
The only lasting peace Israel will see is under her True King.
And He’s coming.
Yes I have read the Zion Chronicles and the other set that goes with them. It was tough reading, but I feel like I learned a lot.
I heard on the news again this morning about the finding the ark of the covenant. Amazing the times in which we are living…very prophetic.
