Proverbs
I’ve been studying Proverbs lately. Proverbs 1:29-31 speaks of people that don’t listen to the counsel of God. When they don’t follow instruction they eat the fruit of their own doings. I’m amazed at all the people I talk to that don’t follow God’s counsel and then blame Him for the fruit that comes of it. What kind of fruit are you producing?
We’re going to our adopted daughters 18 birthday this Saturday. It’ll be great. (Brooke is going to live with her biological birth Mom.) Here’s a quote that she said to a guy (I’m not sure if she liked him or not.) “You’re like the friend I never had.” – lol
Here is today’s PearlyGates item – ”Flying Star”
It seems that a young man volunteered for military service during World War II.
He had such a high aptitude for aviation that he was sent right to Pensacola skipping boot camp. The very first day at Pensacola he solos and is the best flier on the base. All they could do was give him his gold wings and assign him immediately to an aircraft carrier in the Pacific.
On his first day aboard he took off and single-handedly shot down 6 Japanese Zeroes. Then climbing up to 20,000 ft. he found 9 more Japanese planes and shot them all down, too. Noting that his fuel was getting low, he descended, circled the carrier and came in for a perfect landing on the deck. He threw back the canopy, climbed out and jogged over to the captain.
Saluting smartly he said, “Well sir, how did I do on my very first day?”
The captain turned around, bowed, and replied, “Ahh soo, you only make one velly impoltant mistake!”

apples and oranges? You reap what you sow, right?
I love Proverbs!!!! There’s one that specifically describes someone who does wrong and then “rages against the Lord”, but I cant find the exact reference…..
So true… we all tend to blame God (or allow Him to take the ‘blame’) of our doings and we also like to steal His thunder when things go well. We are a sinful people.
That is so true!!!! Hmmmm – I hope I am sowing the fruits of the Spirit…..
May the Spirit of the Lord fully take control of our lives..
Poor guy. Kind of like making a basket at the wrong end of the basketball court.
