Freedom
What does it mean to be free? To English Puritans in the 17th century, freedom meant serving God without interference. To Africans sold into slavery, freedom meant being released from bondage.
To the 18th century American colonists, freedom meant charting their own course as a nation. Colonial leader, Patrick Henry, whose father came to America from Scotland, believed that freedom was based on a commitment to Christianity and was possible only when based “on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
Yet, to many, freedom simply meant license. In his 1859 book, Liberty, John Stuart Mill expressed an opinion felt by many modern men and women: “The only freedom which deserves the name is that of pursuing our own good in our own way.”
So, what is true freedom? The Bible says we can experience ultimate freedom because Jesus died for us on the Cross. Because of His precious blood, we truly can be “free indeed”-not just politically free, but free from sickness and sin. Whatever chains of bondage we may feel, we must realize that Jesus offers to set us free.
Today, God wants you to experience real freedom-freedom from fear and worry, burdens and anxiety, guilt and torment. But you’ll never find this freedom in a relationship, job, or political philosophy. Nor does it come simply by making more money or acquiring more things.
Real freedom comes only when you trust in Jesus and no longer are a “slave of sin.” Don’t let sin keep you a prisoner. When you confess and repent of your sins, Jesus promises to make you “free indeed”! Rejoice, and let Him take away your worries and burdens!

pretty much freedom is able to do anything we want without hurting other physically.
HAPPY 4TH!
i just recently realized that part of my spirituality problem is not having a relationship with jesus… i’m reading a book right now call “the jesus priorities” and it’s helping me see what jesus did and how he helped us as well as teaching me how to be… i’m already thinking and acting differently towards a person in my life who usually made me feel really negative… have you seen “the sin eater”??? it’s really good and made me think more about what jesus did for us…
that was interesting and fitting for the day!
fredom is a state of mind! and changes person to person
Brother, I agree with you 100%, and could not have stated it better.
Recently, there have been some professing Christian men on xanga who have disappointed me deeply by their posts. This seems to be a good time, then to thank someone like YOU, for his consistently edifying content.
We all need to be reminded of our freedoms we have in Christ. Thanks.
@clintspirations - & thank you. I appreciate your posts as well. I agree with you, I’m dissappointed in some of the professing Christian men on xanga that have turned towards filth in their posts.
So glad to have been set free from a life of sin and a country to worship God our Father!
Amen. And the Truth shall set us free!
the promises become really then.
like freedom from financial worries doesn’t mean you won’t have financial problems just that you will be free of the worry. Took me awhile to realize that.
