Halloween
Halloween. For many, it’s a day of fun – celebrated in schools, promoted by businesses eager to encourage shopping, a ritual that focuses society’s attention on witches and other dark forces. Many say this all is just harmless merriment.
Yet all around us, we see the pervasive impact of a world that thinks witches and witchcraft are acceptable. According to the American Religious Identification Survey, Wicca – the religion of witchcraft – is the fastest growing religion (in terms of percentage) in the U.S., where the number of its adherents doubles about every 30 months. I’ve personnally dealt with people in Wicca and it’s a strong hold. It has to be one of the strongest forms of human worship there is. Arogancy and pride are a couple of the fruits of this religion.
Is this focus on witches really so harmless? No! In fact, true witches are in league with the realm of Satan, part of his plan to defeat God’s children and thwart the worship that belongs to God alone. In the very first commandment, God said, “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3). He warned His people that no one among them was to practice witchcraft, for this was “detestable to the LORD.”
It trully bothers me when I see little children dressed up in evil costumes. I pray protection over the children this day.

happy halloween to you and the family!
I guess I’ve always seen it as a religious holiday turned commercial since we went to church growing up on Nov. 1st All Soul’s Day and I just thought the creepy fun was something to do with the dead.
Have a great day.
This is why my children are going out tonight as a carebear, Pink poodle, and bumble bee….We also try to stick to the Church alternative activities…Not the ghoulish stuff. ICK…
I don’t like ghouls but animals can be cute
We don’t do Halloween anymore…my kids are grown and gone. I don’t believe in ‘dressing up the the devil’ either. JESUS IS LORD!
Hey, say your prayers today… there is a lawsuit out that wants to stop the election until Obama can produce his original birth certificate!
Also, your opinion: I feel pretty strongly about not celebrating Halloween.. but my hubbie says that’s it’s depriving her of a fun experince all kids do. What do you think?
So what do you provide instead of trick or treating? Maybe I could follow your trend
Oh and yeah.. the Obama stuff hasn’t hit the mainstream news yet… we watch worldnetdaily ( I will get you the link tomorrow am) Anyhow… for some reason they always seem to have the news 2days to a week early… so we watch them close
(Shhhhh… but I’m soooooo sick of the whole Halloween thing!!) I’m personally glad it’s over. I’ve been brokenhearted about it for the last week. I see so called Christians taking too much interest in the holiday that is now Non-Christian. *Sigh* I have lots of feelings toward this. I was thinking to myself tonight that if it hurts me to see God’s people celebrating this, how much more is God broken for them? How much does it hurt Him that they deny Him through their need for dressing up and/or trick or treating? Oh the pain that Christ endured to free us from such evil that many seem to revel in…
As you can tell, I am seriously ANTI-Halloween…. but I claim that through Christ!!
(BTW, I wish so many more C.P’s would take your open stance against Halloween!!)
Alex is making a comment that I’m trying to type for you… “In everything you do, do it as to the Lord”. I don’t see celebrating Halloween as “doing unto the Lord” if we’re dressing up as goblins and ghouls and the day of the dead (whether or not they’re acknowledging it). So does this mean that every aspect of our life involve God? Yes! He should be the purpose behind everything we do. Thus, the whole idea of Halloween is contrary to Christ.

P.S. It is a conservative source..
@AnieT - I’m glad Halloween is over.
@Only_God_is_Awesome -Several churches rent the city hall and a lot of games are set up. The kids have a lot of fun.
