  • We had a foster child several years ago by the name of Dustin.  He’s grown much older and is now in Heir Force, ministry to 5th & 6th graders.  He also takes correction very well – & he needs it -lol.

    Dear Father,

Help me to continue in the faith by holding on to what you have
given and by being stable and steadfast.

Don’t let anything move me away from the hope of the Good News
which I heard, which was proclaimed throughout the whole creation
    under heaven.

You make my endurance possible by filling me with your Spirit.
Fill me more and more! And thank you for being my Father.

In the name of Jesus and by his authority I ask. Amen.

  • Hope your larger family is doing well this morning and that you are not too sleep deprived.

  • did you mean Air Force?  yes, they grow up and remember the little things you gave to them and then pass the gift to their children

  • @jillcarmel - Nope – I meant Heir Force – It’s our ministry to the 5th & 6th graders.

  • oh, like Royal Ambassetos?

  • @jillcarmel - I don’t know what that is.  Heir Force is our Wednesday night program for the 5th & 6th graders.  I made up the name so it’s not a recognized program.

  • @Kowpatty - It’s my day off today and I overslept.  1st time I did that in ages.  I never use an alarm clock and my wife likes to set the clock ahead by 15 minutes, so I thought I was really late in getting my daughter up and ready for Head Start.  I wasn’t though.

  • I have great respect and admiration for those who can take in the children who need so much to know God’s love.  Those little ones are blessed to be with you.

As I spend time with my 2 1/2 year granddaughter here in Colorado while her brothers are in school and parents at work, I realize just how much it takes to be patient and inventive.  We play hide and seek for an hour, with the same hiding place every time.  Then we move on to painting, and play dough and….. well you know!  I am thankful that I had my children while I was young and still had the energy.

That’s a great name for a youth group, by the way.

“Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world {to be} rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?”  James 2:5

  • @Randy7777 - the Baptist down here have the Royal Ambassitors(spell) for the 5th and 6th graders
