  • Star

A few thousand years ago a star stood still.  It was a most humble birth, in a humble place.  But the heavens were not humble.  Matthew 2:9 – “The star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.”  In other words, the star actually stood still and apparently shot its beams downward until they converged on the very house where Jesus was.
How did the men feel, when the star they had been following stopped?
Were the men momentarily out of breath?
Did a holy fear come upon them?
Did they have a breathless expression between the knock on the door and the answer from His parents?
Did their heart leap within them as they cautiously approached the promised child?
What was their conversation as they departed?
Does your heart leap within you as you think about the birth of Jesus?
