What’s your opinion of the death penalty? Does this issue determine which politicians you support?
This is a very troubling question to me. I answer it like I would be the one that would pull the lever. So I reluctantly say I do believe in the death penalty as a very last resort. It’s not one of those issues that causes me to vote one way or another.
I just answered this Featured Question; you can answer it too!

I used to think that the death penalty was necessary for certain very dangerous prisoners because unfortunately, our legal system does not seem to be able to keep them incarcerated. I did not feel bad when Ted Bundy was executed. I am not sure that I believe in the death penalty anymore. I do not think that a politician’s stand on the death penalty would be a deciding factor for my vote.
I used to believe the death penalty was a black & white issue but unless there is irrefutable evidence I now do not feel the death penalty should be used.
@Nance1 - If a person doesn’t struggle with the death penalty issue, something is wrong. I agree with you.
@xThexGodfatherx - Yes – I agree. Today with DNA testing we can possibly get to the place of irrefutable evidence and then only at last resort.
Many of prisoners are incarcerated and DNA evidence would possibly free them, some are but I think that there may be those who are being executed that possibly are innocent…In Dallas, TX we have seen nearly a dozen prisoners freed from their sentences via DNA testing.
