  • While I can truly understand why you and many others are uncomfortable about an Islamic Cultural Center near Ground Zero, It was an evil deed that was done by some Islamic extremists and there are probably more extremists out there.. But, there are evil men who claim to be Christians, as well.  I truly believe that we will never be truly brothers and sisters under God with those who are Muslim until we open are minds and hearts and allow this. Jesus taught us to love our enemies and be kind to those who persecute us.. I believe that to be true and I am trying to open mine and extend that to Muslims. Christ preached love..to all.. the hated people of his time..the tax collectors, the prostitutes..those in low places..and I must..MUST .. follow His example of LOVE.

  • Ok, no…… do you know anything about the Muslim culture?? They are ANTI-American. They do NOT believe in American WAYS… therefore, they want to DEMOTE America as a country… the more they whine, they more THEY get, and the MORE AMERICANS become a MINORITY… it’s a domino effect. So yes, it IS A BIG DEAL. No, I do not believe it’s a “conservatism” thing… it’s an American thing. Are you an American??? I don’t go over to THEIR country and start demanding that I can worship God or whoever I wanna worship!! I could get killed if I mentioned I was Christian!!! They come HERE and have these freedoms and TAKE OVER… THIS is wrong. No matter how you look at it. Wrong. Doesn’t that anger you?!?! What gives them the right to come here and demand what they want to do and change OUR country?!? And EVERYTHING this country was built upon??? All our fundamental foundations… everything. They’re wrong for being here, and yes I just went there. Simply because if I CANT go there and claim I want Christian WAYS to exist in THEIR country, they shouldn’t do it TO OURS! No WAY I’m going to ROLL OVER and let it happen without a fight.

  • maclove1228 – In screaming about our inability to transport Christian ways to their country you are forgetting something vital; THEY are a Theocracy, and WE are not. If it was a church or a synagogue, no one would care. But it’s a mosque, and thus everyone cares. It is a form of prejudice akin to racism and, based on the laws of this land, thoroughly unConstitutional. How would you like it if I decided YOU couldn’t excercise YOUR Constitutional rights just because you’re Christian and I’m ‘insert obscure religion here’? The Constitution does NOT protect Christianity above or beyond any other religion, and to begin doing so would go against everything this country stands for. You want Freedom? So do I. I want Freedom for ALL Americans, not just the ones who think exactly like me.

  • I agree with you following the Biblical stance on marriage is cleat…The mosque should be built just not at that location….thanks for your comments

  • cleat?  ugh…meant to type…clear

  • Thank you so much for stopping by my site and commenint on my ferris wheel photo post.

  • @greatredwoman - Thanks – Instead of the word “open minded” I like to use objective.  It does take a lot of struggle to do that. I agree with you in that there are bad Christian leaders.  If David Kerish were still alive and tryed to build something in the same place … well I don’t think this conversation would of even gotten to a national level.  The emad of the mosque is not representing the muslem community (At least I hope not.)

  • @maclove1228 - I can see you have a lot of passion in this area.  I see the fight is for the heart.  That requires a different type of fight.

  • @Earth_Lover_Extraordinaire - Yes we are a leader as a democracy.  I do disagree with you concerning if it was a church or synagoge no one would care.  If that Christian or Jewish leader said things about America that the emad said, there would be a fire storm like we have now.  Churches have fought zoning laws in different areas and have lost.  We just went through a city wide fight over a church wanting to put a parking lot in a residential area.  It was all about zoning and wasn’t agaisnt the church.  Thankfully no one made it a “religious persecution” issue.

  • As a follower of Jesus, you should know why it is okay for the mosque to be built there. I myself believe that it is okay for the mosque to be there. I mean, come on, don’t let the hatred continue. As for gay marriage, well, I am speechless. I am not gay and dunno anyone who is gay. But I am quite a selfish person, if I fall in love with a guy, but he turns out to be homosexual. I can be really angry about it. As for lesbians, the more the better, if they are beautiful, even better; less competition. Sigh, I am this evil. For this, I shall confess to the Lord. O God, please help me!
