  • Koran Burning

The church that is planning on burning the Koran is stirring up a lot of hatred.  Although I wouldn’t be a part of this, I think the hatred on the part of Islam is being overlooked.  If it was reversed and the Bible was being burned, would Islamic leaders tell the people that burning a Bible would lead to Christian killing Muslims?  Of course not, because true Christianity isn’t violent.

  • And they would say, true Islam isn’t violent.  This Pastor is dangerous.  He is doing Christianity a gigantic disservice.  The hatred and violence this is spawning is going to blacken the eye of Christianity.  Let them build their mosque and let us be out there showing them the love of Christ and the Gospel.  We can’t do that if they hold so much hate in their hearts for us that they will not listen.

  • Despite even if Islam leaders told people or not, the burning of any holy document is definitely frowned upon. This is a horrible display and damages the Christian image.

Why can’t everyone just get along? (rhetorical question)

  • I agree with you…when I saw a newspaper article about it, my first thought was how upset we would be if they were burning the bible.  Two wrongs don’t ever make a right!

  • Burning the Quran?  I don’t really watch the news so I missed this one. It’s just so wrong on so many levels.

  • @Giantofdespair - I haven’t heard one person sticking up for this Pastor’s right to burn the Koran.  I agree with you it’s wrong.

  • @Randy7777 - I’ll be the first to stand and say that he has the right to burn whatever he wishes, I’m just saying it’s wrong because it’s disrespectful.

  • I agree, … he has the right … but it’s wrong because it’s disrespectful. However, I know we would never hear of this kind of outrage if they or anybody else would burn our Bible…and I’m sure that’s been done.
