Obama
I listened to the President speak yesterday and I really looked for anything positive. I looked for my President to be Presidential. I looked for leadership. What did I get? I got a political speech. I got a speech that blamed President Bush – oh he didn’t use his name but he kept using the word, “inherited”. Our President just doesn’t get it. The reporters continually asked him, “Mr. President do you think that it was your policies that the American people disliked?” Obama continually referred to what he “inherited.” Our President refuses to accept that fact that this is his watch. I did sit down to listen to the speech wanting to hear something that would encourage me, after all he is my President. I was greatly disappointed. I was even more horrified to see that he ordered the release of millions of more dollars of stimulus money the day after Americans sent a strong message to him. I repeat – Our President just doesn’t get it or if he does well then, he doesn’t care. At least the former we have hope he may one day “get it”, the latter then God help us because he’s working hard to destroy America. At this point I’ll accept the fact that Obama has tunnel vision and that tunnel exits in People Republic of the USA.

I listened just a little bit, until I surmised that this was a “blame the other guy” speech. Where was the “we have to work together” for the last two years. Isn’t that what the people have been saying? Work with one another. Quit spending money and find a solution? His flying monkey, who, praise be to God, is not coming back as Speaker, made a comment about the health care had to be taken line by line and the bad stuff thrown out. WHAT??? Did you just hear that somewhere or what?? I am so disgusted with the lot, I want to throw up.
He wants to collapse the system so he can make us slave to the socialist agenda. Keynesian economics has failed, yet he keeps trying it again and again, isn’t that the definition of insanity.
He doesn’t get it, he thinks that we are mad because we don’t have jobs. We are mad because he is destroying our country with debt, and he and the rest of the progressives are too damn ignorant to understand that.
I wish people would stop doing the blame game in general and just try to work with one another!
It’s going to take years and years for our economy to recover (which is the fault of both parties) and the president, whether Republican or Democrat, who followed Bush would have this problem. Obama needs to stop implying that it’s the Republicans fault; it’s the fault of both parties.
Though I am surprised that people got so angry that Obama pushed for health care and carbon emission legislation. When he was campaigning he said he was going to advocate for reform in those areas. And what he eventually promoted was a lot more watered down than what he was saying during the 2008 election season. It makes me think that people didn’t vote for him because they agreed with him but just because he was “cool.”
More speeches like that and his inability to own up and say this is what we did on my watch may end up with someone else on duty!
While, yes, he shouldn’t play the blame game, the downward spiral of the economy did start with Bush. And the war… well, it started in the Bush era. But, again, instead of saying it was inherited, it should be, “We must continue forward.” It’s only been two years. It’s going to take more than just two years…. maybe and possibly even more than 4,5,6, or even more years to get things back to where they were.
He has done other things to help the nation. It’s not like he just sat there in the Oval office. I still don’t agree with the stimulus package and I never did in the beginning when the first batch was distributed, though.
@Kowpatty - I wanted to hear a “Presidential” speech from Obama – that was the only reason I listened. I miss that. I’m so sick and tired of hearing my leader blame others.
@obamawatch - Yes, you hit it on the nail. We are mad because of his policies that has contributed to the nations decline. And he wants us to accept that as normal.
@AmeliaHart - They voted for Obama because they wanted change. They didn’t vote for republicans this time because they wanted change.
@laytexduckie - So you’re going to play the blame game in your response. If you want to be accurate it started in the Clinton Administration with the regulation concerning loans. Freddie Mac was a Clinton blunder. The liberals want to mask their socialistic agenda with helping the poor. There were people that had no right getting a loan that got a loan because of government intervention. We need a smaller Washington. Obama has done nothing to get this country on the right track. He has done a lot to get the nation on the left track. Cash for Clunkers hurt the poor. If you don’t believe that try to find a vehicle under five thousand dollars.
@Randy7777 -
Then I learned something new. But the fact of “right” and “left” track simply isn’t a valid argument. It’s the same as saying either Obama is a Democrat or a Republican, and because he’s a Democrat, he’s wrong.
I do agree that there are people who shouldn’t have gotten loans in the first place, and thus why I didn’t like the Stimulus package. The Cash for Clunkers program was placed to bring sales for failing car companies back up. It did bring it sales, but not for the failing companies.
@laytexduckie - Cash for clunkers helped the foreign car dealerships – that’s why the Obama administration had to attempt to hurt Toyota with government inspections – and America didn’t care. We’ve lost our way as a nation. We follow after change instead of good leadership. I believe America wants to get back to the original intent of the founding fathers – that’s what the polls are saying. We need to stay on the “right” path.
