Gilbert Morris was a pastor before becoming an English professor and earning a Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas. Gilbert has been a consistent bestselling author in the Christian market for many years and one of the most prolific authors in Christian fiction with over 200 books currently in print.  He and his wife live in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Gilbert’s Favorite Verse: Matthew 6:9-13 : Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

I am currently a Gilbert Morris book.  It’s about the time of the Civil War.  A southern soldier makes friends with a northern soldier.  I can feel my heart being ripped already.  I really enjoyed the other books he has written, especially the House of Winslow series.  It started with the pilgrims and went throughout US History.

  • Gail Tsukiyama. Half Japanese, Half Chinese, raised in California. Her books are amazing, written with so much passion feeling and emotion. No matter which one of her books I read, they always manage to bring me to tears, be it out of happiness or sadness. My two favourite books by her are “The Samurai’s Garden” and “Stree of a Thousand Blossoms”.

  • My favorite author is Catherine Marshall. Love her!

  • I like too many authors to choose just one. Jane Austen has had a profound influence on me though.

  • I’ve got a whole lot of “favorite” authors, many of which write mystery, police procedurals, crime fiction. Of American literature classics, I’d probably pick Mark Twain as my favorite. In Christian non-fiction, I like Joyce Mayer and Eugenia Price (who also has written Christian fiction, I believe). Might want to check out Gilbert Morris. I think I should be buying good books for my grandchildren to read.

  • @o0_Gina_0o - Thank you for that review.  I love history. I love a good story in history.  I’ve never read a book through the eyes of Japan. I purchased the book for my kindle.  I’m really looking forward to reading it.  Gail Tsukiyama sounds like a great author from your review and the other reviews on Amazon.

  • @RaZeHeLL - In reading Catherine Marshall’s bio, it sounds like pain and suffering made her the great author she is.  Thanks

  • @Veronica_Leigh - In reading her reviews I came across a quote she made, “One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other.”  I thought that was interesting.  It suggests mystery and maybe that’s why she’s a great author.

  • @DonnaLou - I really enjoy the character of Mark Twain.  He is a character himself.  My favorite Star Trek and Rifleman episodes both have Mark Twain in the story.

  • Ooh, you really got one of her books? which one did you buy? I really hope you’ll like it, and let me know what you think when you finish it!

  • @o0_Gina_0o - The Street of a Thousand Blossoms – Thanks for recommending it.  I have one book to finish and then I’ll start on that one. I’m really excited to get into the book.
