22 Lions Killed In First Weeks Of S.D. Season
We had a massive amount of birds that died here in Yankton by the Missouri River. It was a mystery until the Department of Agriculture admitted to poisoning the birds at a feed lot several miles from the Riverside Park. They said it was rare that the birds flew that far and died. Apparently the birds were a menace to the feed lot.
What wild life do you have in your area?
If I am against something I don’t have a problem remonstrating it.

The only wildlife I have in my area are kids with spray paint.
You have a mountain lion season? Wow!
I have rabbits, squirrels, possums, coyotes, turtles and the neighbor cats in my yard. I have seen a bobcat in the city limits but not in my yard.
deer, black bear, rabbits, squirrels, raccons, turtles, coyotes, bobcats, beavers, gophers, etc…We’ve seen all around here except the bobcats (but others have seen them) There’s more but that is a good start.
the wildlife that i see most often are deer… they’re everywhere, all the time. lol
@looking_inside_me - Funny
@Kowpatty - Mountain Lions are mostly in the western part of the state. Once in awhile we hear about one closer.
@Peridot21 - One of my favorite things to do is staying at a cabin in the Black Hills of South Dakota. The deer come so close. Do they come near your house?
@stephensmustang - Speaking about turtles, I was traveling on an off road and seen a turtle moving down the middle of the road. I thought, “Austin would love this turtle.” So I pulled over and went to get the turtle. I have never seen a turtle move so fast. I couldn’t catch it. I was shocked.
@Randy7777 - LOL. I know. I ‘rescued’ one, put it in the car and it was so scared that it peed on the floor (luckily there was a rubber mat). When I put it out of the car, it scooted off so fast, I couldn’t believe it.
@Randy7777 - oh boy, do they… i remember one night while we were eating dinner at the kitchen table, a deer (and it was a buck, no less) sat in our yard, just beyond the deck, and watched us eat! lol … i think they like our property cause it’s really, really wooded; they must feel protected… and there’s lots of good green stuff for them to eat. :)
