Controversal
I was reading a few blogs this morning that were controversal. I was going to comment then decided not to because I wasn’t in the mood.
Do you like controversal topics or do you stay away from them?

I do and I don’t. There is certain aspects of myself that I lean more towards the refined and diplomatic, but then there is another side of me that says to that side to be quiet while he speaks his mind. If someone says something that is against what I believe in, I speak up, but it depends on how much respect I have for the one that I am talking to.
Depends on my mood. If I’m pretty happy, I don’t spoil it. If I’m really mad, I just might. lol And if I’m pretty so-so, and I have the time, I just state what I have to say and be done with it. But, it also depends on the topic. Some topics, I pretty much always say something, others I just don’t say anything, no matter what.
I’m a highly opinionated person and am an activist in several areas. However, I created my Xanga mainly to talk about personal things, so I usually don’t discuss controversial topics, either in my own entries or in comments to others. I do make rare exceptions to that rule, but for the most part, I follow it.
I read…but I don’t usually leave comments. Especially if people are fighting over politics or religion. some people on here don’t know how to debate with maturity and respect.
I figure I’m not gonna’ convince them of anything and I DO NOT like confrontation or fighting. Sometimes leaving a comment comes back to bite you.

All of my close friends on here already know where I stand on “issues”, so I tend to stay away from writing my own posts on them. I try to keep it light and fun or serious in a good way. Probably I’m just a big chicken, by not commenting on controversial posts!
HUGS!
I like them and sometimes I don’t. Even though sometimes I stay away from them I always have an opinion, i’m just not always in the mood to go back and forth.
Sometimes I get involved. Mostly I don’t because I don’t like to argue. ha.
I enjoy reading them, but I usually don’t leave comments. Regardless of how strongly I feel about something, there are sure to be people who feel just as strongly against it and will take great offense to my opinions. It’s not worth the struggle when there are so many people out there who aren’t willing to have a healthy, respectful discussion.
I’m not afraid of confrontation, but usually don’t comment on issues like religion, atheism, abortion, birth control, because those have been debated to death and rarely do you read anything new about those topics.
Lively respectful debate seems to have gone out of style and has been replaced with name calling and insults. Rarely do I enter those “hot button” issues because it seems the issue and facts gets lost in the personal attacks.
if you’re bored, why not?
Things that are controversial to other people rarely are so to me so I generally ignore it and get on with my day. I have more important things to do than to weigh in on issues I’ve already resolved for myself.
@oceanstarr - Interesting position you’ve taken.
@BenelliMan - I see you like to stir things up. -lol
@Lucy_or_Ethel - Very true.
@Jewelbeetle - Yes – and I’ve found that rarely does anyone change their mind on an issue by what is said.
@shpadoinkle12 - I’m like you – I read more controversal topics than I comment on.
@bethro78 - When I do get into an argumentive mood I don’t like myself- lol
@pinktiger335 - Thanks
@AdamsWomanFell - You’re right – sometimes leaving a comment comes back to bite you. It could be misunderstood.
@TheSchizoidMan - Interesting. I personally use xanga to learn about people. I bounce ideas around and I get a better view of a subject.
@Brilliant_Innocence - LOL – I don’t know how many times I have written a response and erase it before posting it, because like you said – “I don’t want to ruin my good mood” -lol
@colinhindle - So true – I go with the saying, “Correct a fool and you have an enemy, correct a friend and you have a great friendship.”
@Randy7777 -
I definitely see the value in discussing issues if it’s among intelligent, non-controversial people. This standpoint, though, saves me from illogic and drama.
I used to comment on controversial posts, but I rarely bother now because it feels like pearls before swine most of the time. So many trolls out there…
I like to see what others are thinking and what is burning their baskets. I will comment if I have something constructive to say, depending on my mood. If I’m having a shite day I tend to stay away from commenting and if the post makes me angry I will move on. Usually!
Depends on what the subject and who is writing them.
I don’t mind controversial topics as long as they’re handled with intelligence and sincerity. If the poster of the question is just looking to stir up trouble I usually avoid commenting. If I’m among the earliest visitors to a page, I might try to steer things in a more profitable direction.
controversial*
I read controversial posts sometimes, but I usually never leave a comment.
define controversial…
if something is worthy of pondering or discussing, i don’t really mind, normally
It depends on the issue and my mood.
If I have a well-thought out opinion that I can back up, usually I do comment.
it depends on how I’m feeling that day, hah. usually I tend to stay away from them so I don’t get caught up in the arguments.
@bittersweetreflections – I don’t like pointless arguments
Controversal…. On Sundays in June and July, we are hearing messages on The Controversal CHRIST….Jesus can blow our thinking in what He did and the things that He said….like eat My flesh and drink My blood….Eating someone’s flesh and drinking blood…. I couldn’t want to do that. But Jesus was speaking of communion. We need wisdom when we hear things…controversal.
