Space

Atlantis has blasted off on the shuttle’s final mission. After this shuttle mission if Americans want to go or come back from the space station we’ll have to catch a ride with the soviets. I’m always shocked when I watch a Russian rocket return to earth. It’s a small capsule which lands in the dessert as people in vehicles race to where it lands.What would you like NASA’s future to be?

I think the space program is one of the most important things this country has done. Not so much because of exploring space, but because of all the inventions that occur because due to the research required to go into space.
Good Morning, Randy. I think the future of our Space Program is up in the air right now. I suspect that the problems facing our nation and the planet will de-emphasize space exploration. Our national credit card appears to be maxed out. I guess I would like to see us try a landing on Mars. I don’t know why. lol It just sounds interesting.
I think we seldom choose the lesser of two evils. We choose from the shopping list of evil. I think my willingness to watch some TV movies is problematic. It is my choice, and I need to make the right choice.
My wife and single daughter love to shop–the find feminine happiness that lasts about 24 hours, and then it is time to shop again. I get wore out shopping. One mall even has a place to drop off husbands while their wives shop like they do their children. That is a great idea. lol
Hope you have a very nice weekend,
frank
when a woman goes shopping it’s shoes and clothes and I guess I’m not a woman. lol I hate to go shopping for those items but I have 2 older sisters and always got their handme downs and no it’s hard to wear new stuff.
I would like the space program to keep going but I’m don’t know enough to say what.
I WANNA GO TO JUPITER’S MOON IO. AND URANUS’ MOON TITANIA. AND MARS. AND SATURN. OMG. #spacegeekloser
We landed on the Moon in 1969. Since then we’ve done nothing. That’s because of the institutionalization of liberalism.
During the Great Depression, the Empire State Building constructed in only 18 months! After over a decade Ground Zero is still a hole in the ground.
The automobile displaced the train in flash.
But after nearly 100 years we are still stuck with the automobile. That’s because of liberalism and government intervention. The government makes 5 – 6 times what Big Oil makes off of each gallon of gas sold.
NASA has only worked when Americans were allowed to be free.
“we’ll have to catch a ride with the soviets.”
Not true — in fact, we can’t, because there are no more Soviets anymore.
Anyway, I want to see us develop a more modern reusable manned craft. I always want to see more robotic probes for exploring the solar system, as well as a push toward a manned mission to Mars. (Further down the road, I want to see colonization, but that’s too far off to be thinking about in terms of specifics yet.)
I think we will see now more of the private sector get involved with space exploration. I read somewhere that despit the cut backs, there will be plans for going to mars.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter – I hope so
@TheSchizoidMan – well that reveals my age -lol
i think it’s sad that they are cutting the space program
@galadrielspitcher – yes it is
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace – Free market enterprise equals new ideas and progress
@soullightsky – I enjoyed the pictures sent back from spacecraft wheni passed some of the moons
@Babyboomerjill – thanks
@ANVRSADDAY – I think you are right about the US and NASA
@C_L_O_G – I believe under Kennedy it was one of the rare times Americans had one vision: get to the moon
