Castle. I love Castle. Whoever made that show was thinking about me when they did couse I just love it. I even have that tune from Castle as my ringtone. Other than that I don’t watch TV a lot. I watch movies mostly and I get what I need from interwebz. Another show I like to watch that isn’t on TV is Red vs. Blue. Great show.
I watch very little TV and if I do watch, its mostly news.
I have the ‘gumption’ to say we do not have tv reception. Way back in the late 1970′s & the 1980′s when we first saw feminine hygiene products advertised on tv with our tv room filled with all ages of young kids, we decided this topic was best handled privately and with discretion rather than in this way. At about the same time open mouth kissing and bed hopping became quite popular on tv, we shut it down here. Rather than evenings spent with our eyes fixed on the hypnotic blue light of tv we had family time and delighted with it. About that same time Steve Allen the author and comedian came to Des Moines and spoke on the ‘dumbing down’ of Americans because of tv and that only served to re-enforce our feelings. With that said we select DVD’s and we watch some tv programs through Netflix. No commercials hurrah! Monk and Law and Order remain my favorites to watch. We have nothing against tv. It is the content of many of the programs we feel assaulted by not to mention nice the quietness of our home and the free time we have as a result.
@bmojsilo - I haven’t seen that show.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - News usually makes me mad -lol
@Lucy_or_Ethel - We usually tape everything we watch so we speed through commericials. We once lived in an area that didn’t have cable or tv reception. It was great. -so I hear you.
@Randy7777 - Oh man, you’re missing out on a great show.
There’s a lot of good stuff on TV these days. I like, in no particular order: the CSI shows, the Law & Order shows, Falling Skies, Merlin, the Mentalist, Criminal Minds, Spartacus, Person of Interest, the Colbert Report, The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad, Nature, Nova, Blue Bloods, Terra Nova, and Unforgettable. That’s just current stuff off the top of my head and doesn’t count series that are no longer being aired.
My TV viewing habits changed quite a bit when I got a Tivo, and quite a bit more when I got FiOS. It will change again if I get the iPad I’m thinking of buying — then I’ll be able to convert my TV shows for that. (I already do that sometimes with my iPod, but watching such a small screen isn’t so great.)
We don’t have cable in our house, not even just the local stations, and I absolutely love it! We do watch a lot of movies, and a couple of TV series’ that we buy on DVD. My favorite is Battlestar Galactica (the new one). We also enjoyed The Tudors, and True Blood is very entertaining.
When I do watch TV nowadays, I watch:
Family Guy
Kitchen Nightmares
MasterChef
Ghost Hunters
Back in the day when TV was great, I watched:
The Simpsons
Full House
Family Matters
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Cartoon Network
30 Rock
Top Chef
Grounded foe Life
Arrested Development
What Not to Wear
George Lopez is great! Have you ever watched Modern Family? You might like it
As for me, I like Dexter, Lost, Breaking Bad, and Modern Family. I’m also a secret Teen Mom/16 % Pregnant junkie ;P
Doctor Who
Torchwood
NCIS: Los Angeles
Fringe
Star Trek anything except TOS
Any of the River Cottage shows
Midsommer Murders
Sherlock
Wallander
Our Song (Israeli show with lotsa singing)
Hell’s Kitchen
My favorite shows are of three types, mostly: 1) Game shows – Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants to be a Millionnaire. 2) Crime or Police Shows – All the CSI’s, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, the Mentalist, Blue Bloods, Bones, Person of Interest & Castle. I wish the latter were on at a different time because it conflicts with one of my other favorites. 3) I used to like medical shows, but now the only one I watch is A Gifted Man. House used to be a fave, and I still might watch if no other favorite conflicts, but toward the end of previous season, House character became too annoying.
Thanks for visiting my site when you can & commenting. ~~Blessings ‘n Cheers
Dick Van Dyke is a fav of mine too. I also enjoy mysteries and a few cooking shows (though I rarely cook lol). I also ‘love’ I Love Lucy–this and Dick Van Dyke are always good for a laugh–good clean fun.
How I met your mother, Community (it gave me a high expectations for city college now I’m somewhat disappointed), Raising Hope, Official Fest of Best (I think it was switched, it shows the best short films you never seen) and project runaway.
I use to watch George Lopez, too. But now I feel like they’ve been just playing all the shows that I’ve already seen.
I feel really nice reading these articles I mean there are writers that can write good material.
