GPS
I was listening to a report that said men don’t like having a female voice on their GPS system because they don’t want to take directions from a woman. I chuckled to myself because I keep my GPS silent because I want to hear any voice coming out of my GPS device.
Do you have your GPS system voice on or off?

I don’t have a car or know how to drive one, let alone a gps lol
@bmojsilo - You rely on public transportation?
@Randy7777 - Not really. Split is not a big town, so I mostly walk.
Yes, the irritating British Female voice, she bugs everyone but me,….Recalculating recalculating.
With my vision now, I can’t drive. When I did drive, I kept the voice on. It made it easier. Isn’t that the point?
Off. I can’t stand those voices either.
I don’t have a car. I did have a GPS unit once for a little while, just as a toy to fool around with wandering around town, but it was an older model without voice.
@seedsower - LOL – I’m thinking of Daffy Duck voice. -lol
@jennylovve - male or female voice?
@WaitingToShrug - If they had leg horn fog horn voice I’d go with that -lol
@TheSchizoidMan - interesting – Do you use public transportation to get around?
@Randy7777 - I do. I have no family or pets or anything, and public transit in most of the DC area is pretty good, although the Northern Virginia part could be better. I almost never regret not owning a car.
On.(not one in my car, but use the GPS on my phone) I think she’s funny! She mispronounces Hispanic names and such. I get a laugh when she talks. She almost sounds mad if I don’t do exactly like she says to.
HUGS!
My sound is turned on my gps.. I think automated voices on any electronic device is ridiculous and irritaing to my ears.
@TheSchizoidMan - When we vacationed in the DC area we boarded a bus near Gettysburg to tour Washington DC. I was so happy we did that.
@armnatmom - agreed
@AdamsWomanFell - That’s funny. I did download a air traffic controller for GPS directions. It’s hillarious.
@Randy7777 - As is true of so many locations, Washington DC is “a great place to visit, but you wouldn’t want to live there”. I’m glad you were able to visit and enjoy seeing some of the things that are so important in our nation’s history.
Mine is on.
I don’t have a GPS in my car. No OnStar either. If Abraham Lincoln or George Washington would come back from the dead they would think there are a whole lot of demons around!
can’t afford a GPS. gotta rely on good ole mapquest or a reg. map
I don’t have a GPS system. Maybe my next car, if I decide to get one in a year or two, will have one. I’m not too wild about a voice talking to me, but maybe it’d be okay if it is accurate enough to guide me where I need to go. Right now, I depend on computer maps or old fashion Rand McNally’s. Computer maps aren’t always accurate & neigher are Rand McNally’s if they are not recent. ~~Blessings ‘n Cheers
@stephensmustang - Most of the time before I go to a new place I go on map quest or google and look at the sattelite image. I love it.
@DonnaLou - I just downloaded a 10 year old voice to my GPS. I used that yesterday. I like it – very sassy. -reminds me of my Kalli. lol
