  • Taxes

Yankton had another “opt-out” and it failed.  The school is working really hard at raising property taxes and the residents are saying, “No higher taxes”.

Will you vote for any one that insists on raising taxes?

  • Candidates who favor abortion, favor murder of the unborn. Candidates who favor higher taxes favor stealing.

I scrupulously avoid voting for candidates who support murder and thievery.

  • No, no, no & no.

  • Nope. They aren’t doing a good job with the money they have; they only become more destructive with increased revenue.

  • i might, but what are the other things they are wanting to do. taxes are needed for a govt. to help full fill the needs of the general public projects and for the people that work for the govt. a good balance of spending and taxing is really needed but rarely done. in the town i live in, all the parks (4 of them) have been closed for many years as there is no $$ for them. people want the parks open, yet each year they vote “no” to a $25.00 add on to property tax that would fund the parks. thus they sit fenced off and are eye sores. people want nice roads, good medical care, help getting food and housing, and any number of things that the govt. helps in providing to the public. yet, no one wants to help pay for it. the people with little $$ get taxed, while the people with more $$ get tax breaks. a real change is needed on how taxes are collected and spent.

the word “tax” is the nastiest word in the american language.

  • Probably not, but even if they promise Not to raise taxes, they do it anyway. The whole tax mess needs changing. I’m more concerned about valuing life, jobs, and our country’s safety.

  • It depends upon how they intend to spend the money

  • @mcbery - Agree, agree, agree

  • @buddy71 - I don’t agree with you that no body wants to pay for it. I don’t have a problem paying my fair share of taxes. It’s when they want to tax more. We pay enough right now.

  • @ata_grandma - The tax system has gotten too complicated
