Self Importance
When I was in the Navy, Hollywood wanted real sailors to be in the mini series, “Winds of War”. I was fortunate to be chosen to be in the TV series, Pearl Harbor scene. It was an eyeopener for a couple of different reasons. 1. I saw the behind the scenes movie action. It was so exciting when the bombs went off and people flew in the air. The Japanese planes were so real. (It was great seeing the movie stars)
2. We were all put in different uniforms from the WW2 era. Although we were all enlisted, some of us were given officer uniforms. I watched those that had officer’s uniforms change into authority personalities.I remembered the previous story when I read:
Lab coats make you feel smarter.What uniform would you like to wear and does clothes make you feel different and more important/less important?

I always wanted to be a detective and arrest someone or something. Having that badge would be awesome! I wonder how it would make me feel or act. hmmm….
@Megabyyte - Now that would be exciting.
I can’t think of any uniform I’d want to wear now, but when I was in high school, I tried out for the drill team solely because I liked the uniforms and the marching. This is a dance/drill team, not like a band or flag drill team. Frankly, I thought I’d look pretty good in the skirt.
And I did that for a couple of years. It was (mostly) just as much fun as I thought it would be.
Uniforms and suits make me feel institutionalized. And I have a hard time with that.
I like wearing the Clark Kent uniform and then underneath I have the Superman outfit. There is something about saving the day.
Clothes does have an impact. No uniform. Interesting way to remember something like that.
My father has a small part in “Tora! Tora! Tora!”. Two or three lines on screen. Whee. :^)
Wearing anything “dressy” or “formal” always makes me feel different, uniform or not. As to what I’d actually like to wear, I’d probably go either with Battlestar Galactica navy blues or Star Trek: The Next Generation dress whites. Most likely the latter.
@WaitingToShrug - Marching – I love(d) it also
@sometimestheycomebackanyway - -wouldn’t like instutitional feeling.

@TheSchizoidMan - That would be fun.
