What would you do?
Scenario: You see a a guy in the parking lot of the mall on a motorcyle. He is getting high on a marijuana. You walk past him and can smell the marijuana and see the guy is very high.
What would you do? Would your response be different as to how the guy looks?

i wouldn’t know how marijuana smells like
I’d turn far away from the stink of marijuana.
@maniacsicko - really? it smells like burning leaves
my mom found pot in my son’s babybag when my “exhusband” dropped the baby off and she looked in the bag and before he drove off she said,”I think this is yours.” that was 1976. It was a baggie of weeds and paper. lol
I wouldn’t do anything. His dope habit is not my business.
If it looked like he was going to be driving his motorcycle soon, I’d tell him he should wait until it wears off. Or I might call the police. Other people’s lives are at stake, doesn’t matter how he looks.
@maniacsicko - Really?
@KnightInCROATIANarmor - I don’t like the smell either.
@Babyboomerjill – interesting.
@Randy7777 - what do you mean by that? is it something that normally everybody know how it smells like? i honestly have no clue, because i have never know or met anyone that ever do marijuana so far in my life..
@RighteousBruin - Thanks for commenting
@firetyger - I wonder how many people would do as you? I agree with you.
@maniacsicko - When I first went in the Navy, marijuana smell was on my ship a lot. I run across it less frequent now, but none the less I run across it. I was surprised you’ve never smelled it.
@Randy7777 - I dunno. I’m a mom though so it’s kind of how I’m wired
I also wouldn’t be too sure of the smell of marijuana..I think I smelled it at a concert once but not sure I would recognize the odor.
@dingdongdingbat - Thanks for commenting.
@maniacsicko - That makes two of us. I can say that I have been fortunate enough in life to be away from people who have smoked marijuana. I have no clue what it smells like or couldn’t even recognize it either. I owe this to my parents who moved me away to Spain. Spain at that time was free of drugs. So, if there was anything being dragged in my presence it was cigarrettes.
Looks has nothing to do with it. If I were to smell it, and knew exactly where it was coming from, I would turn away, go call the police, and hope they get there in time before the person drives away. Being on drugs is dangerous while driving.
@Randy7777 - I was surprized that she didn’t throw a fit about pot. She said her and dad would find pot in pockets of coats at the cleaners and after they cleaned the coat they would slip it back in the pocket and never mention it.
maybe express a disgusting look. not to him directly
I’d say nothing, nor be phased by it.
it would be the same no matter what he looked like. and it would be the same if he was drinking. call to 911 and report what i saw. it is up to the cops to determine if there is really something wrong. i dont have a problem with people using drugs or booze. but i do have a problem with safety of them and others if they might be driving.
I don’t know what it smells like, but if I’m out anywhere, there’s over a 99% chance my husband is with me, and he does know what it smells like. I don’t honestly know what I/we would do. His appearances would only matter in terms of whether he looked like he could kick my husband’s ass if he tried to say anything to him directly, but we’re not the type to put ourselves out like that. We’re usually more on the “alert the proper authorities” way of handling things. I guess if the guy was actively getting ready to drive off, we might say something to him… I just don’t know. I’m kind of a coward and I hate confrontation.
@firetyger - What you said.
There’s minding your own business, and then there’s not stepping in when it’s the RIGHT time to step in.
If he rode away, and ended up killing someone in an accident, the dead’s blood would be partially on my own hands if I’d done nothing.
No thanks.
Honestly, I’m not sure what I’d do. I’d definitely be uncomfortable with the idea of him driving in that condition, but I’d probably be hesitant to call the cops too. Pot’s not my cup of tea (and it smells disgusting), but the way we criminalize pot use in this country is pretty ridiculous.
I might suggest that he go take a walk or something until he sobers up a bit. If he insisted on driving and I thought he’d be a danger to himself or to anyone else though, then yes, I would call the cops.
I generally don’t care what people look like, and this case would be no exception. I would ask him to hold off driving until the pot wore off. Motorcycle wrecks are nasty.
keep on walking
