Commercials
We record almost everything we watch on TV. It’s usually Game shows, Storage Wars and Food Network shows. Since it’s recorded we fast forward through all the commercials. I’m getting pretty good at hitting the stop button at the right time, almost the same way when I put gas in the vehicle. It makes me wonder if everyone fast forwards through commercials will the TV industry have to change the way it looks at having commercials.
Do you record your TV programs and fast forward through commercials?

No. We stopped doing that when VCRs became obsolete. We now download all the shows, movies, and other programs – because when you download them, there is no commercials
It depends on my mood, when I’m relaxed I’ll let the commercials play, if I’m in a hurry to finish the show I will fast forward.
Oh my gosh! I am the worst at watching shows/movies over and over again. So yes, I record my faves and FF through the ads, and the parts of the shows I might not even like.
@KnightInCROATIANarmor - Interesting –
@Randy7777 - Yeah, uTorrent program helps a lot, and piratebay is a very nice website
@MillySonka - I think some shows cause me to fast forward because they leave me in suspense and then go to a commercial.
@armnatmom - What are some of your favorite movies you watch over and over? I can’t get enough of Forrest Gump & Ground hog day.
@KnightInCROATIANarmor - Do you have a TV that is hooked to your computer?
@Randy7777 - No. We burn the video files to DVD and play them on a dvd player, that is hooked to a tv.
@Randy7777 - Last of the Mohicans, is my all time favorite!! I’m also a huge Twlight fan..
before I got cable tv I thought that you paid to have cable so you won’t have commercials.
I like PBS because they don’t have commercials but I have to say that some of the ads are really funny.
We always fast forward through the commercials ……. I love re-watching favorite movies again and again also.
Yes, I do. I bought a Tivo not quite two years ago, and ever since then, I almost never watch live TV. In the past year, the only live TV I watched was coverage of the hurricane that went thru here last August. Before that, it was the Super Bowl, which I probably won’t be doing again, either. It allows me to watch a one-hour program in about 45 minutes, and with as much TV as I watch, that makes a big difference.
I don’t usually sit down and watch TV, but if I do I usually end up watching 2 shows at once, flipping back and forth when the commercials come on.
In the new fiction shows, the products are just being incorporated into them, which kind of screws up the show, but I knew it was inevitable when DVR/Tivo came along.
I multitask and when commercials play I do video game /read ebooks and run to the bathroom. I suppose if you need to leave you press pause and press play when you return from your break.
yes, most of the time.
Used to records shows in the past but not any more.
