  • Debate

I thought the debate last night was great.  Romney said he was running on principles not details.  I accept that.  Obama said in one sentence that it’s not about where we’ve been but where we’re going and in the next sentence he blamed Bush aaaaaaggggggaaaaaiiiiiiiinnnnnnn.  I thought Romney clearly won the debate last night.

Who do you think won the debate?

  • I don’t know.  We didn’t watch it.  I did check BBC online today, and they said Romney won.  I like to see what the rest of the world thinks.  Not that England is the rest of the world, but it’s a start.

  • Even the left Obama-loving pundits said that Romney won. It’s kind of hard to have 4 years in a cozy bubble with an adoring media, and then have to defend your record… which sucks. Obama talking last night, you would not have realized he’s already had 4 years in office. He talked about the same talking points “going forward” that he talked about in 2008. The same ones that have failed.  He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on the stage, and a couple of times Romeny interrupted him, and he looked relieved. I don’t think it’s just that he forgot to bring his A game. I think he’s in over his head, and has 4 years to show what he has and hasn’t done.  I didn’t think Romeny would do so well, but he was on fire. I think that’s the real Romney.  Will it change voters? No. I think if you were voting for Obama last week, you’re still voting for him today. Same for Romney. However, there are a lot of right-leaning, conservative, even libertarian voters who had previously decided to not vote at all this election, clearly not for Obama, but not liking Romney enough to go to the polls. If he keeps this up, I do think he could get those voters to the polls.  Just my thoughts, though. I’m one of those voters, in fact. I was not thrilled to vote for Romney, but over time, he’s giving me reasons to feel a little more confident.

  • @ata_grandma - I’ve listened to the different networks and there is a lot of critism about Obama’s preformance last night.

  • @DirtyAndShaken - I agree.  The commentators are saying that Obama looked like a small child caught in a lie, looking down at the floor.  The only thing Obama can say is: 1. What Clinton said 2. What Romney is going to do wrong and 3. It’s Bush’s fault while saying it’s not about the past but about the future.

  • Romney had beginner’s luck.  he wasn’t great, but Obama was asleep at the wheel.

  • @RighteousBruin - It wasn’t luck but skill that Romney had last night.  He was great.  Obama was not.

  • Romney.  In this election, I’m not really voting for someone as against someone. Just saying.

  • It was as one sided as I have ever seen

  • @RighteousBruin - Romney isn’t a beginner.  He was governor of Massachusetts.  Are you Democrats that out of touch?  Romney’s father became a politician after a life of being an industry titan.  Like father like son.

Obama was a dope smoking radical who had always made it on someone else’s dime, much like Karl Marx.  But unlike Karl Marx who was well educated and had a brain, Obama is a dunderhead, an empty suit, a brain in search of a thought.

If it wasn’t for the invention of the teleprompter Obama would have been just what he was last night: the dumbest person in the room.

  • @trunthepaige - Agreed – but then how can Obama defend his record?  I look forward to the VP debate.

  • @stephensmustang - Romney looked really good last night. I gained more respect for him.

  • @PrisonerxOfxLove - Romney was also in business and knows business.  That came out loud and clear last night. Obama has never been in business, that came out loud and clear also.

  • @Randy7777 - The way he tried to but did not have the passion to pull it off. He only needs to look believable not really be it

  • @trunthepaige - LOL – I hope Americans are more smarter than that but I wonder.

  • @PrisonerxOfxLove - @Randy7777 - @DirtyAndShaken - I enjoyed rreading your comments. Romney was terrific last night and Obama… well, he was definitely out of it. I’m looking forward to the debate between the VP’s.

  • Romney one, but I couldn’t tell who was telling the truth.
