As I read other xanga sites the most common thing I see is the problems in relationships. In my office I council people on relationships. So, I’d like to take a little time and talk about it. There are some basis things to know when in a relationship. 1st – You will go through crisis. -everyone does. It’s normal. 2nd. The crisis is either a stepping stone into a deeper relationship or a tombstone. In order for it to be a stepping stone you must forgive and demand respect. Also have an exit strategy out of the crisis. The exit stragey may simply be not to allow your mate to push your buttons. -nonreactional. The plain truth: Not too many people have the nerve to move into change.
What advice would you give to a couple in a rocky relationship?
Setting aside seriousness. I’ve been contacted by the police. They want me to register my buttons on my pants as legal weapons. – another one flew off. - lol
Squirrel News: Stowaway squirrel gets trip to Hawaii
HONOLULU (UPI) — A squirrel that stowed away on a Boeing 747 flight from Tokyo to Dallas earned an unscheduled flight to Hawaii, but that was the end of the line.
When the flight crew heard the animal moving around in an overhead bin, the flight was redirected to Honolulu Airport to remove the furry stowaway, the Honolulu Star Bulletin said.
Because of concern that the squirrel could eat vital electrical wiring, the pilots followed standard procedure and notified authorities of the emergency landing.
Wildlife officials spent hours trying to trap the elusive animal once the plane landed.

I’m amazed when I ask the kids (Ages 10-16) about famous American Christians and they don’t know who they are. I’m curious: Do you know who this is?

Went to church this am. Then out to breakfast w/ my husband.. Then fell asleep in the chair.. (I haven’t fallen asleep like that for years… I must be tired.)
To the mall to walk for an hour. Now, home to watch 60 minutes..

Wow thats wonderful haha My dad used to do like the same things in his children’s ministry. So how are you doing today?? I’m sort of confused about something that happened at church to me….its about a guy haha Other then that I am doing well.

It’s great to teach kids the importance of the Word, and even the importance of bringing it to church with them. So often we get into the comfort of them being on a power point for all to see. My dad said to always weigh everything a pastor had to say with what the Bible had to say. That can’t be done if we don’t have a Bible in church to begin with!

RYC: I didn’t have time during that week they filmed to attend it, I wish though, I forgot that my school was close to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Our grandparents possess volumns of knowledge…about life and how to walk the walk. When they pass on, so do all those wonderful stories of our heritage…so it behooves us to learn from them…to pay them homage and to love them while they are here. “Doing” the right thing always makes us feel good (too). I am glad you made your grandma happy.

RYC: We’re possibly heading for New York and from there, we wanna just drive around the US. Its a 3weeks holiday too. We’re planning to spend 2 whole days in places with attractions I wanna see… but I have no idea what exactly I wanna see yet. But you should know that I love something with a lot of history and nature that is unique to the country I’m visiting. Shopping malls is a no-no. God knows we have too many of them here in Singapore.

I never knew a grandma that I could call. One was gone before I was born and the other one passed away when I was four. I don’t remember her AT ALL, but I remember being at her funeral….. I remember all to well the folks in nursing homes who where lonely. Some of them didn’t ever have visitors and loved to have company. Fran and Josa Ju are the kind of people who vist people, Josa Ju is a cute Bichon who plays her role perfectly and Fan accompanies her on her rounds.

As far as your question of a marriage on a rocky road, (and not as a marriage counselor) the only thing anyone can do is to be a “friend!” Encourage and promote them to make good and righteous decisions and discourage the bad ones. That situation is like a diet. Only the “troubled” overweight person must take the initiative and make the “change.” You can’t do it for them, however, you can support them in the decision they make to alter their appearance and modify their bad eating habits. The rest is entirely up to them as they are on their own journey. Too many injured spouses think that a change must be made in the other. As the saying goes…if there is to be change…let it begin with ME.

Favorite cartoon character….Hmmm….I’d have to say Spongebob Squarepants. =) I’m stealing from my kid’s generation because I didn’t really care for any when I was growing up. =)
My advice to a couple would be very similar to yours. Nothing is perfect, and nothing will ever be perfect in a relationship. There are going to be bumps in the road as well as struggles, but it’s never the end of the world. What I’ve learned is to apologize even if you don’t think it was your fault. Don’t yell. And most importantly….Pray. God put you both together for a reason…You were meant to balance eachother out and to grow with eachother. Sometimes in order to do that He has to break down some walls…It may hurt at first, but you’ll end up stronger and even more in love than before. Sometimes during those hard times I always think to myself, ‘We’ve been thru worse before…We’ll get thru this.’ =)

I’m amazed that people don’t know who Rev. Graham is. Of course, he isn’t on TV as much anymore, so many young people may not know him.
Maybe hubby and I have had a successful marriage because of his nonreactional ways. It drove me crazy when we were first married. I would try to argue with him, and he would just walk away—–humming hymns!!! He doesn’t hum hymns anymore, but will still walk away when he knows if he answers my question it could start an argument. But, I don’t even bother much anymore, unless it is very important to me that I have an answer. Our 46th anniversary is this Thursday, so we did something right!
FogHorn LegHorn is my favorite cartoon too. Then my second one is Homer Simpson. I have somany Homer’ims I repeat all the time.
The guy in that pic looks familiar…but his name eludes me. I think he’s a televangelist.

Wow…my great-grandmother was 102 when she died when a hurricane hit [in like 2004] the nursing home she was living in. The nursing home got destroyed.
102…and yes. She lived in the southeren part of Texas and during a hurricane I dont remember which one but it destroyed the nursing home + 32 other lives were lost there.
Hi. RYC Scrapbooking is for me, just putting narration to photos. Sometimes I use stickers and cut outs to accent things on the pages, but mostly its a way of telling the story the pictures are showing. That way future generations will know that the picture of _____ standing on the rock was “taken in 1990 at Yosemite in April” and why they were there and who went along on that trip, etc etc etc.

ryc: I like everything from traditional hymns to the Newsboys, Mercy Me, Chris Rice, Salvador, SCC, Big Daddy Weave, Eli, etc., and I grew up on the Blackwood Brothers, the Stamps, the Oakridge Boys, and other quartets. It would be really hard to pick just one as a favorite.
I have never been to South Dekota so I wouldnt know. haha

My advice to those in a rocky relationship? Love is a choice. When the rose colored glasses come off and the twitterpated feelings go away, it becomes a choice to stay there. Don’t walk away from it because the feelings aren’t there at the moment. Don’t stick with it if God says to walk away from it.
