We did a Character Connex in Garreston, South Dakota, this morning. -Elementary School Assembly- I almost had a large explosion. I was blowing up a couple beach balls for the game with a electric air pumps. Well I forgot about it – it was almost ready to explode. That would not of been good. lol

RYC: our Filipina exchange student became Americanized very quickly. My mother is a wonderful cook, and Debbie loved EVERYTHING she made. She gained 20 pounds the year she was here! Debbie even went as far as getting the all-American first job…she worked at McDonald’s!

That would have been quite loud, I’m sure!
Today for someone else child I bought books for the first book program. I arranged to tutor a child to learn to read. Judi
that would’ve been really bad.
Just dropping in to say hello and have a great day.
A large exploding beach ball.. Good thing you stopped the pump before it exploded.. Yikes!
Yesterday, in our area, there was the very saddest story..This is the way I understood it: Parents had separated long before and the mom had custody of her daughter. The mom suddenly and unexpectedly died last Fall so the biological father was asked to take his daughter. He told the authorities that he didn’t want her, but took her reluctantly last Fall. Last week this 5 y/o girl told an adult caring for her in some capacity that she didn’t want to go home.(it’s unclear thru the TV reports who she told) The little 5 y/o told this adult that she didn’t like to sleep on the basement floor and go to the bathroom in a bucket in the basement and didn’t like being locked in the basement.Allegedly they also found that there had been some verbal abuse, too. Authorities investigated and allegedly found that the girl WAS being locked in the basement…kept away from the rest of the family who slept in beds upstairs… so the dad and step mom (who is a medical doctor!) and their 3 children slept in beds upstairs while they made this little 5 y/o sleep on a piece of cardboard down in the basement..
Now, how sad is that?? TV has reported that the authorities have removed all 4 children from the house and are looking at charging the parents with abuse…The mother, who is a MD, may lose her job at a hospital, too, because of these charges..It is an emerging story and I don’t know how this will turn out, but if it is true, this little girl has really gone thru hell…..
Blessed are you who try to make a decent home for some of the unloved kids in our world.
Christy
That would have been a loud pop!!!
