Refreshing
I try hard to “reboot” on Sundays. Nothing is the same. I attempt to “shut down” all normal schedule. Today won’t be a full day of refreshing. We have to go get Kim’s Dad, John. He’s in a nursing home 3 and 1/2 hours from here. We have to have him back tomorrow morning at 10:30 am for a doctors appointment and then we take him to a nursery home here in Yankton.

Do you do anything special on Sundays to relax and refresh for the week?

Most Sundays the whole family gets together for dinner.
no I don’t. Usually just cooking at home and sometimes Sundays become “a clean day” for me. I clean my house on that days
Here lately I’ve been taking Ariana to Megaplay (sort of like Chuck E. Cheese, I guess, but German). I like to let her enjoy herself on the weekends, when she’s not in “school.” I can’t wait to be stateside, so she can go to Monkey Joe’s, Chuck E. Cheese, and other fun places. We can enjoy parks almost anywhere, but the bouncy castle and such are her new favorite and they’re only really at Monkey Joe’s
I have lunch with my mother who is 87 years old.
@Jewelbeetle - That sounds like good family time.
@fabolousclown - Thanks for commenting. You have a Happy Sunday.
@ArmyWife4Life2007 - Monkee Joe’s – I like that name.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - Nice – How is your mother doing?

I do chores the day before so I can literally be lazy on Sunday. Then I complain how bored I am.
@Randy7777 - you’re most welcome (: (:
@dmcx2010 - Thanks
@armnatmom - Boredom is good sometimes -lol
With this warmer weather I hope to enjoy some porch swing time and catch up on my reading. We usually simply relax on Sundays after church.
@Randy7777 - Nice of you to ask, my brother Randy. Actually for a woman her age she is doing great. A few things here and there, but she is very independant has a clear mind and is a joy to be with.
Sometimes I go away on Sunday, but not lately. Today I will just stay home and work on writing some of my stories and poems. I’ll also be reading the books I got from the library.
Sundays ar ethe first day of the business week, just as they are the first day of the week based on Genesis. So Sunday for me is the day when I’m wishing for coffee and endless meetings to finally end. Then I run like mad to the school, because on Sundays the other dad works late, so I need to pick the kids up…
The Shabbat, however… is special. It comes in with the lighting of the candles, with the singing of Lecha Dodi, we welcome Shabbat HaMalka, Shabbat the Queen. While I’m not Shomer Shabbat, I try to keep the two greatest mitzvot: to sanctify and to enjoy it. I do use electricity, watch TV, use a computer or even cook, but we keep Shabbat standing out from the rest of the week.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - . That’s great
