We had our big Vigil Mass at Church last night. We had 4 readings from the Old Testament before Mass started, then the usual Epistle, Psalm and Gospel readings. It is a myth that the Catholic Church does not hold the Bible absolutely precious.
I’m supposed to go to my sister’s for the family wingding. Pretty much the same as you, eat and egg hunt. Happy Easter! Have a great one!

I’m going to church service this morning, and I invited my friend/coworker, Derrick, to come with me. Other than that, I don’t really have anything special planned.
Our choir sang at both 8:15 & 11:00 AM this morning. In addition, I volunteered to read scriptures as a lector in place of a member who normally would be there for choir. I’m the scheduler of lectors for services each Sunday. I had scheduled her for first service, but she wanted to spend the time with her visiting family and just attend later service for choir. She and her family had breakfast with us, and her husband (a good reader) was lector at 11 AM. St. Andrew Youth Group is always responsible for the Easter breakfast from 9 – 11 AM each year. As usual, it was a full breakfast of sausage patty, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, toast, orange slices and a small pastry of white and dark chocolate. Orange and apple juices, coffee and water were available for drinks. Back home, I’m catching up on subs’ posts and hope to get a nap in at some point. The TX Rangers play this afternoon, so the fame will be on. My friend and I will eat our Easter meal this evening with the meat portion being prime rib roast. Ham, baked or otherwise, doesn’t agree with my system, so I haven’t had any for years. It’s already been a full day. ~~Blessings ‘n Cheers
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - I grew up Catholic. There was readings from the Bible every mass. Thanks for sharing.
@mypandabear - Did your friend/co-worker go with you?
@DonnaLou - Wow – you do have a full day. Prime Rib – that’s a Easter meal. May you have a very blessed Easter.
@Randy7777 - Unfortunately, he let me down. He said he’d come, but he never did. I’m quiet disappointed
We went to church, came home and had 27 of us here for dinner. The sun shone and it’s almost 70 so the kids got to hide and re-hide eggs outside……..yay! Now we’re waiting for a friend or friends to come over. A happy day!
The fanily all got together and had fun in the garden eating and enjoying the lovely day!
Tossed a small ham, some small yukon gold spuds, and pearl onions into the crock pot before I heaed up to the hospital to sit with hubby. Came home and had dinner with oldest son and had a quiet night.
@mypandabear - I’m sorry to hear that. Hopefully next time.
@ata_grandma - 27 and more – that’s a lot of people.
