Pleasure?
What gives you pleasure? At our Honor Bound Men’s group on Saturday we read the verse in 1 John that showed John’s pleasure. He was tickled when he saw someone else walking in the truth. I’m really happy when I see one of my kids walking in truth.
What gives you pleasure?

I love telling people about Jesus.
When my nephew was about 8 years old, I had him read aloud from the Book of John. It really made me smile that he was into it. I want my nephew to grow up as a good Christian.
Solving personal dilemmas and philosophical problems with the application of reason.
I also love taking wonder dogs, Sister and Newby out for walks. It brings them so much joy that I get joyful too.
When my kids observe the mitzvot and honour the Torah. When I go to a Harel Skaat concert with my friends. When I sing Ofra Haza’s songs with my children. When I am with the ones I love. When my kids are discovering the world.
When we light the Shabbat candles. When we sing Lecha Dodi. When we sit down to eat gefilte fish, chicken and kugeln and we say the blessings. When I lay tefillin. When I touch the mezzuzah and then kiss my fingers.
When I watch TV shows curled up on the couch with chips and apple slices at hand. When I learn something new. So many things, big and small can bring me pleasure, because one thing I’ve learnt is that life is too precious not to enjoy it.
What gives me pleasure ? To walk through life in the shadows and be an impersonal entity of truth and love. See the faces of the receiver without them not knowing who the true author was.
teaching kids about music, it has always given me pleasure! The best part is always when they understand the concept!
solving problems for other people.
standing in silence on the docks of the beach at night, or with just my ipod. always with my notebook, of course.
singing, loudly, and well.
Helping others and comforting them when things get tough.

It’s not about how you look. It’s about how you present yourself.
I am sure you are fine looking
@dear_TOMORROW - Thanks – good word
I am pleased that my daughter and family are Christians. I take pleasure in singing and playing guitar at a Celtic festival in Jackson, MS, every year, including for children’s area and presenting a workshop on Celtic music in America. I am also pleased when I’m asked to entertain residents in retirement communities or assisted living & rehab facilities anytime. ~~Blessings ‘n Cheers
Sitting on a rock watching the fog rise from the river gives me pleasure.
Seeing my husband be able to stand up in the morning and walk with his walker and the smile on his face because he is alove one more day, brings great joy to my heart.
Seeing positivity in the world!
watching and listening to a group of swans flying low over the river, watching ole Chew zero in on a bird in heavy cover, fawns playing their own version of tag, an osprey plucking a fish and a hundred other things
mostly just being in wild places
i have two sets: first one i call simple or temporary pleasures: these are music and foods!
and the other one is unending multifactorial pleaures: seeing my family and friends walking in the right path
and lastly making someone smile even there’s no reason to be happy
@SmileCiege - Thanks – nothing like helping people smile.
@ElevenStones - That would be great watching swans – We have a few here but I don’t see them too often.
@hesacontradiction - Interesting
@tymedancer - Remind me of my wife’s dad. He is struggling to get his strength back. Blessings to your husband
@DonnaLou - That’s great.
