Summer Plans
The tempature has finally gotten above 70 degrees. It caused me to think about summer plans. Early June I’m taking 3 Five year olds across the state for Adventure Camp. Three days and Two nights. Late June I’m taking several kids across state for Kid’s Camp. In July some time we’re going on vacation. Not sure where yet - Possibly Colorado.
What are your summer plans?

Nothing in particular. I do have my usual science fiction convention, Shore Leave, just North of Baltimore. Other than that, I have no plans. 2011 is pretty much the year where I’m trying to get all my finances in order, and that should be done around Thanksgiving or so. Next Summer, I’m probably going to go to Ireland.
Your plans sound exciting. With gas and food so high priced, I’ll be staying home for the summer.
I am hoping we could go somewhere, specially its the 25th wedding anniversary.
Just had a vac the end of April. Currently, it’s all about work and my veggie garden. Can’t leave it alone right now.
But in August, I’ll be taking another vac. No plans yet as to where though. I hope you have with all the youngins…..
Unfortunately, not much, hoping for a job change and house move…*hangs head and cries*
I haven’t made many definite plans for summer. The first Friday in June is when my eldest grandson graduates from high school, so I want to be in Austin, TX for that. I do want to visit daughters and families in Austin and in Maryland at some other time this summer, but when is not definite. There are two Celtic type festivals during summer. One is Texas Scottish Festival the first weekend in June. I am not sure which day I will go until closer to that time. For many years (18?), I have been a performer & workshop presenter at CelticFest, Jackson, MS in early September. I and my singing partner & friend do plan to be there again this year. ~~Blessings ‘n Cheers
It was 89F here today.
I don’t know. I’ll be going to Gettysburg some during the Summer.
My summer plans ? I’m thinking of becoming a super hero. Not sure if I should become Superman or Batman. The only set back is wearing my underwears over my pants.
I just stumbled on to your blog. I hope you don’t mind me commenting, I enjoy that you ask questions. I feel compelled to answer haha!
Im going on an internship in Louisiana. I have never been and I couldn’t be more excited!
No plans yet for Summer! We’ll have a taste of Summer this week…. In the 90′s the next few days.
Hoping for some good summer weather this year so we can go to the beach a lot. (last summer was cold and gray)
If the “kids” don’t make it out from Colorado to here in Cali. then I may have to go there as my grandbaby is growing fast!

@TheSchizoidMan - Science Fiction Convention – I sure hope you blog about it. Sounds very interesting.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Sounds like gas may have reached the highest point – it may even go down a little.
@Mal_P - Wishing you the best.
@Margo73 - Wishing you the best in those two goals.
@DonnaLou - Those festivals sounds fun – hope you blog about it.
@Shining_Garnet - I so love Gettysburg. It was my favorite vacation several years ago.
@Randy7777 - Yes, I’ll be blogging about it. It’s always a good time. One of the neat things is that they sell photo opportunities with the stars… last year, I had my picture taken with Katee Sackhoff (that photo is in my Xanga)… this year, I’m getting my picture taken with Tricia Helfer.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - LOL – I would suggest Superman – you have some resemblance to Clark Kent -lol
@Thunderheart1959 - Intern in Louisiana? I’d love to hear more. Thanks for commenting.
@Journaling_Susan - 90′s – now that’s hitting summer.
@ABAHM - Grandchildren do grow so fast. – wishing you the best in visiting them.
@TheSchizoidMan - That is so cool
@Randy7777 - Obama’s intent and policies are for gas to reach $5.00 a gallon.
Speculators exploded the price of commodities but that looks like it is over for the time being.
But gas and commodity prices will begin floating slowing upward again. They may come down just before the election to make Obama look good, just as they went up in 2008 to make Bush look bad.
Guys like George Soros have enough pull to influence prices over a short period of time.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - Interesting – I guess I don’t give Obama that much credit. I know he has made speeches and told Americans to “just get use to it”. -”the new normal”. It’s all part of the redistrubution of wealth and wanting to change to alternative sources of energy. I agree that the “no new drilling” is causing prices to go up but Americans not using as much fuel causes the prices to be reduced.
@Randy7777 - I heard him say it with my own ears back in 2007.
@Randy7777 - Yes, I generally do blog about the festivals, except I didn’t really have time to do one for Irish Festival in March after it was over, but I’ll put a link to the site on my blog ahead of time.
“Finally gotten above 70 degrees…” Ha, it’s been in the upper 80′s, low 90′s here for weeks…That’s Texas for ya though. I might miss the heat this summer. I’m spending it working at the Y in Estes Park, Colorado and participating in a program through my church.
I’m excited about it! I love the mountains!
I’ll also be spending a couple of days on Pawley’s Island, SC.
