  • Honor Bound - this morning.  Pastor Jeff spoke on a need to be changed by what you hear.  He read out of Revelations 2:18  The Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire - He said that was being able to see into a person.  God looks through us.  You tolerated ....    Samson's name meant sunlight.  But Samson was eclipsed.  He tolerated a little sin.  Something came into block out God's light.  Samson didn't see it because he didn't take the call of God serious and remove everything not of God.   Are you eclipsed in any area of your life?

  • I have to comment on jury of Scott Peterson.  It bothered me when they made statements about him.  Yes, he's guilty but their reaction to him was so wrong.  One lady took it very personnal.  She hated him and spoke out that hatred.  I think of a verse in Ezekiel 9:4.  It says to mark each person who groans over the sins of others.  Those that were marked would be spared.  When those jury members became personnal with Scott they took on his murderous spirit.  I fear for their hearts.  I suspect this has changed them for the worse.  We must be hurt when others sin, not rejoicing in their punishment.

Psalm 24 The earth is the Lord's and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.

This is a good reminder.  Thinking about this will take away my stress.  This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice in it.  It's a easy life to go in the direction of the Lord, it's a hard life to go on the broad road leading to destruction.  I think of a young lady who was in my office on Tuesday.  She was so guilt ridden because of the things she got involved in.  She as most people refuse to believe God could forgive her. (She didn't say it but her actions spoke really loud.)  My heart hurt for her because she literary got sick because of conviction.

  • GOD'S SIMPLE MESSAGE

        1 Corinthians 2:1-5
        http://www.SearchGodsWord.org/desk/?query=1+Corinthians+2:1-5

Dear Father, God of all true wisdom, power, and glory,

When I set about to share your Good News about Jesus with other
people, keep me from using lofty concepts or high-sounding words.
Let me speak of nothing except Christ and him crucified.

Help me to understand that it is okay for me to show my own
weakness, fear, and trembling. Let my words demonstrate your Spirit
and power, so that the faith which germinates will rest not in my
    wisdom but in yours.

In the name of Jesus, by his authority, and according to his will
I lift up this petition to you. Amen.

  • There nothing greater than the flow of God out of a person - it's called ministering to.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.  Psalms 67:1,2

  • I listened to the testimony of Ashley Smith, the lady who was taken hostage by Brian Nichols who killed several in a Atlanta courtroom including a judge.  It was amazing.  She lead him to Jesus and talked him into turning himself in.  I could see Jesus in her as she was speaking.  Ashley kept her composure all the way.  At one point when they were getting rid of the vehicle Ashley could of sped away but she didn't because she didn't want other people to get hurt including Brian.  She read a portion of the book, "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren to him.  She felt Brian Nichols was at her place for a purpose and that purpose was so he would hurt no one else.  To God be the glory.

  • Following God.   This is a struggle many people have-How do I know the voice of God?  How do I do what he wants?  I was just talking to a lady this morning about how her son wanted to follow God but was looking for the "Big Move" of God. I am a firm believer that God moves more in the little things than the "big" things in our lives.   Personnally I work at the small things - the everyday mundane.  All those small things do lead to huge advances in the Kingdom.  There are times in our lives when God does stir us to know our purpose.  That came in my life in Dec of 1987.  I knew in my heart God was going to speak to me.  I had to prepare.  I sought him day and night for nearly a week - then on Saturday of that week he told me I would be working with special children.  I pressed through until contentment came in my heart.  My suggestion is to make only one goal: to love Jesus.  If that is your only goal you'll do the will of God - no matter what.

  • I've been listening to the book of Joshua.  I continually hear, if you listen you will be blessed.  God is very clear in his directions.  He created this world in a certain way and he tells us exactly what that way is.  We need to worship the Lord our God only.  Some may think that life would be boring if I served God.  The opposite is true.  I've found that when I'm getting closer to God, my life has purpose and meaning.  I have more life in God, than I could ever find in myself without him.

  • Psalms 119:17  Deal bountifully with Thy servant, That I may live and keep Thy word.  Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Thy law.

I do need the Lord to help me in every way.  I need him to continually send his Holy Spirit to work in my life.

God wants us to battle the forces of darkness.  I must fight the good fight.
