We’ve done plenty wrong. But it’s Mother Nature who is just pissed right now.
When I quit laughing I’d say,” Brian,Brian,do you really think man is that powerful?”
I would say, yes we’ve done plenty wrong and if he doesn’t realize it then he’s out of touch; the problem is that “the rain falls on the just and the unjust”.
@tsh44 - Specifics?
@laytexduckie - Specifics please?
@Lucy_or_Ethel - You know when I listening to him I thought the same thing. Mankind is not that smart to destroy this wonderfully made earth.
We have done something wrong, and just off the top of my head… burying our garbage
@incarnate_emotion - I remember when I was in the Navy. I was on board an air craft carrier. All the trash was thrown over board and it was a lot.
@Randy7777 - I wish science would find a productive way to deal with garbage
@Randy7777 - The specifics of things we’ve done wrong would of course vary based on each individual. I’ve lived a long time and have yet to meet a perfect person. Imperfect people form imperfect societies hence the answer of yes, we’ve done wrong.
Well we have abused Mama Earth is so many ways, but as far as what a local minster here said about God punishing everyone by the storms I think that is a load of crap.
@tymedancer - I agree with you: This is not a punishment from God.
These rages of nature show that we are not in control of all nature’s forces. But, the question is: “Have we done something wrong?” Uh, no brainer. Specifics are both individual and group based. Also, It’s true that both the just and the unjust are affected. I’m praying for everyone who has been affected. ~~Blessings & Prayers
As a nation, we certainly have not been currying for God’s favor lately. Quite the contrary, most of society has been trying to snuff out all signs of Him. Why should He protect or bless us now????? There are always consequences to actions.
The only thing I did wrong was be born on planet earth. I am sure there is a much more friendly planet out there some place.
I hate to say it because you are such a wonderful and civil fellow. But the mainstream media exemplifies the ingrained stupidity which forms the foundation of modern leftist thinking.
@guestbrief - The sun shines on the wicked and the just.
Likewise bad weather.
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - yes, it does and that is true. However, the Lord uses catastrophic weather to punish in many instances. So which is this?
@LoBornlytesThoughtPalace - You said that very nice.
Actually we haven’t done anything wrong. What is happening here is the natural 50 year cycle change of the weather. Do you remember that hole in the ttmospher over the poles that appeared some 10 to 15 years ago ? Weathermen were predicting that it was just the begining. That the hole would get bigger and bigger and then we would all end up melting to death because the ultra rays of the sun would destroy everything. Well, those holes are no longer there. The Earth fixed itself. Same as the Earth will eventually mellow out and all the changes in the atmosophere will hit bottom and start rising to a more natural pattern.
No, this is not a prelude to the end of the world. So, by no means should you start building and ark or gathering animals.
@The_Eyes_Of_A_Painter - I remember the talk of the holes in the atmosphere. It was a big thing then.
Of corse, we’ve done plenty wrong–as individuals, as states and as a nation. However, I don’t think that the storms are God punishing us. Though He could most certainly stop or change the storms, His reasons/ways are not ours. I believe as He leaves man to ‘free choice’, He allows nature to ‘be free’ (so to speak) in the same manner.
@stephensmustang - Agreed
Glad you enjoyed the Friday Funnies….what has man done to incur the wrath of nature? hmm, just think nature and weather has had horrific moments over many years….just my thought
What I would tell him is that this is the second worse outbreak on record in this part of the world, the other being I believe 1915.
Of course the climate changes and the planet warms, as it does after every ice age.
@tsh44 - my mother would often quote me that passage from Job when anger got the best of me; it still comes to mind often.
I don’t watch Brian Williams but is he acknowledging a higher power? A lot of reporters in the mainstream annoy me very much. Lol! I hope he’s not blaming it on men’s exploitation of the planet. I think we’re pretty helpless to change the climate. One natural disaster can change the planet so fast even tilting it axis sometimes. What would we have done wrong to cause those tornadoes?! I guess that’s what I would say. I don’t think he knows what he’s talking about with that question. Just my opinion.
@mcbery - That’s what Williams was doing – global warming. I think that’s a wrong answer. Thanks for commenting
Goodness, there is a lot of worthwhile info in this post! 1 4 2. So, I do not really imagine this is likely to have success. web link web. Hey, there is so much worthwhile info above! link link web. This cannot have effect as a matter of fact, that is what I suppose.
